can I say that moon being kinda mean to peril in escaping peril felt so ooc. like thats not my moon why would she???? she literally says in winter turning that it isnt fair to judge dragons based off of their thoughts or something. and qibli ALSO "sizes up" dragons he meets in case he has to fight them. its a trauma response for both peril and qibli but for some reason its okay for qibli to do it, but when peril does it she deserves to have her thoughts broadcasted to everyone??? and even criticized for being wrong about someone???

that scene is always so weird to read because that's the only time moon acts like that? is it just me??

This could be even funnier is if Icicle finds Moon out as a mind reader really soon after that first Scarlet dream.

Here’s the thing. Winter was totally onto Moon’s mind reading at least subconsciously from pretty much the moment he met her. However, it stayed subconscious because he was (probably) raised to believe that his first instincts were subpar/too nice/not Icewing enough/etc., especially after the Hailstorm incident.

Icicle, however, would have no such qualms. She’s perfectly molded her instincts to fit the expectations of those around her, and as such she feels she can trust them pretty heavily.

So after her oddly anxious roommate makes a few too many slip-ups, (or maybe even just one, like in Winter’s case,) she’ll probably be confident enough in her own skills of deduction that she’ll actually believe herself.

…Whiiiich is only gonna make Moon even more anxious, even if she tries to hide it.

At some point she just corners Moon alone in their cave and Moon just panics.

I like to think it just goes something along the lines of

Moon, panicking: I promise I’m not a mind reader you just talk in your sleep please don’t kill me 🥺

Icicle: …

Moon: 🥺

Icicle, internally but also lip syncing to test her theories: …okay now I KNOW I’m right because I haven’t mentioned mind readers to you ONCE.

Moon, panicking even more: I’m a Nightwing and I accidentally found something out about you what did you THINK I was gonna think you were thinking? 😭

Icicle: …girl.

And it’s mutually assured destruction from there.
