Operation Avalanche (2016)

From the same team that made The Dirties, Operation Avalanche is a mockumentary style drama about the conspiracy of the faking of the first moon-landing. I got to hear from the filmmaker after the screening it was fascinating to hear about their process. Their visual effects guy is nothing short of incredible. There’s footage of Stanley Kubrick in this film and it’s incredible. By the end, it’s very obvious these guys are Canadian, and it’s clear that Johnson’s efforts strained. Personally think he probably would have made a better director if he were not also starring in it. I thought it was entertaining, I can’t even imagine the field day that conspiracy-theorists will have with this film. For American’s, I’d say it’s worth a watch. 7/10.
