It’s essentially a Bioshock Infinite AU.
Rough-guy-with-questionable-past-and-morals is hired to get this girl and bring her to them.
The girl has been locked away in a tower all her life with nothing but books and various hobbies to entertain her, and a dream to see Paris.
He lies by telling her that he’ll take her to Paris in an airship, when in reality, he is going to deliver her to the people who hired him.
She figures it out- gets super mad, essentially knocks him out and escapes.
He needs to get her back and decides “fuck it. I won’t take her back to the people who hired me.” but the only way he can get the ship back and get the resources he needs, is to help out a massive revolutionary cause who plans to turn this whole city upside down and uproot its corrupted leader.
There’s a scene in the game when he’s in loads of trouble and she saves him (against her better judgment)- and as he’s being saved, he tells her his plan to arm the revolution and its such a Thorne thing to say omg. As the game progresses, they realize how messed up everything is, and the girl toughens up and cuts her hair, but even though she’s seen and been through so much and she realized the weight her life has on others, she’s still soft and kind.
The whole thing is all Americana, steampunk-ish kinda vibes and I honestly really like the game itself. There are ways to include the Rampion Crew too, and I dunno– It’s a fun place my brain likes to wander when i’m bored. haha

BUT. The game deals a lot in things that I wouldn’t know how to convey in an AU, and the end of the game (which is very spoilery) is a big twist and I am not going there or ever including that in the AU. Not because it would spoil the game, but it has nothing to do with the relationship between Thorne and Cress.
Basically, I don’t ever really plan on doing anything with the AU- aside from maybe a stray doodle or two that I will most likely never post. It’s heaped onto my pile of other AUs that I think are too esoteric for me to do anything with. haha
