05. pacing the room with heavy steps.
Heather was home alone. It was winter, so the sun set early. So even though it was only 6 pm, it was dark out in Hawkins. Mother was at the store, and it wasn't likely Daddy would be home until around 7.
Heather was home ensuring dinner didn't burn in the oven. She was sitting in the kitchen reading a Cosmo magazine. The kitchen was warm. It had been a little over a year since the 4th of July.
Heather and her Family were part of a few other families that were on a watch list of sorts. Supposedly they were severed from Vecna. But no one really believed that. And with how the nights felt recently, it's as if Heather could feel...Something in her again. Hiding in the back of her mind. Just dormant.
However, Hawkins Lab has prescribed a large handful of pills for the family to take. A mild sedation and sanity pill. As their trauma pretty much broke them all...Life had just only started getting normal again.
When Heather hears heavy footsteps above her. Her heart instantly sinks into her stomach and her whole body siezes in fear. The hairs on her neck stand on end, and her smile falls to a frown.
She does not breath, as her head slowly tilts up to listen and watch the ceiling. Listening as the heavy footsteps pound and stomp above her. Slowly she stands and she follows it's path below. Expecting to meet it at the staircase. See who this intruder is...Her mind wonders if it's any of Vecna's creatures. But she doesn't even reach for a weapon. The teenager is eerily also in a hunter like mode as she meets the creature above her step for step.
