Out of all the things that he thought that might have brought Ace to his door so unexpectedly, that had not even been anywhere near the list. Talking out here like this was not ideal and he really wanted to bring the brunet inside. Somewhere safe. Somewhere with water and a place to sleep. Somewhere with Bill. Dealing with a stubborn drunk man required a special touch. Especially because he was clearly upset.

"Come in, Ace, please," the writer repeated, one hand reaching out to grasp his elbow and tugged in an effort to coax him closer and over the threshold of the door. "I want you to come in so we can talk, okay?"

The two hadn't discussed whether or not they were going to be exclusive and clearly that ambiguity had caused their current predicament. They would definitely be having that discussion once Ace was sober and free from any hangover symptoms. Despite all his slurring what Ace was saying was really very sweet.

Bill didn't think he had ever had anyone fight for him like this before. Ace wanted to woo him. Completely new territory.

"I'm sorry you saw that. I did plan on telling you the next time we were together—" Because if there was one thing Bill was not, it was a liar. "I really don't think he is even interested beyond what you saw." His gaze softened as the palm of his other hand reached out to cup the other man's cheek. "We never really talked about what we were, you and I," he added, "maybe we can do just that if you come inside with me. I can get you water."

Ace felt a lot of emotions, but when Bill touches his elbow he nearly gets doe eyed. Ace may of been a bit taller, but he felt smaller. Felt stupid, but only because he knew he should be sober. Shouldn't be making a scene. His throat feels dry, water sounds good. Bill smells good, Bill is close again, Bill is here. He's at Bills House. Fuck. How drunk was he?

"O-okay. Water...Talk yes...Please."

His feet carry him toward Bill as the other pulls him gently through the threshold of his home. His hand coming to hold to Bills arm, steadying himself a bit with the others help. But he shakes his head when Bill says Tom isn't interested.

"I don't know Bill...Holloway's always been...Competitive. Even when we were in highschool..." He hums a bit as he goes in and out of being present and now remembering past rivalries with Tom. He didn't always lose. In fact Ace often beat Tom in many ways. Especially in Journalism. Which only pissed the other off more.

Ace finds himself a chair in the kitchen with Bills help. His body relaxing into it, feeling drunkly limp. The walk was at least a few miles, he felt a bit tired on top of sad, ontop of stupidly drunk.

"I'm sorry I got stupid drunk...I should of just...called...Or something." he admits and adjusts himself in the chair again as he looks tiredly to Bill.

"I get it...He's very...Alluring and passionate."

Ace thinks back on seeing Tom and Bill, and then how Tom would look at Bill that night while Ace was on his own date with Bill. It shouldn't be a competition, for someones affections. But damned if it also didn't feel like it entirely was. At least Ace wasn't giving up after seeing Tom and Bill together!
