Jade-No. In fact, quite the opposite. With Spanish, she seems to know what is being spoken and how to speak it fluently herself.Though she has no idea….possibly because of her bloodline? She has no clue currently.NootauAnswered~ 

9.) Does your character dream or are their nights filled with an empty blackness? Describe a dream they’ve had or a night they couldn’t sleep and what they did to preoccupy their time.

Jade-Jade dreams. But lately she’s been having horrific dreams turning into torturing nightmares that are keeping her up at night. The nightmares are usually consisting of “monsters” that sound so familiar, but are black and she can’t identify who they specifically are. That…and the “dreams” she has ususally are of Meidou dying or being ripped away from her, and blood is usually drawn in her dreams. -Everytime she wakes up from these nightmares, she is in a paranoid panic, but can’t stop herself from babbling. It takes almost an hour for her to usually calm down. But by this time, she feels imense pain in her body or starts to cry because she feels so alone. She rarely goes to Nootau anymore, fearing she will be affecting his life all the wrong ways.Nootau-He dreams too, but Nootau also can foresee things through his horn. Now this was explain waaayyyy back when I first opened this blog for the team. But while he’s asleep, sometimes he can sense injured souls or other specimens that could potentially bump into him. Most of the time, he’s with spirits in his dreams. It’s hard to explain, but all in all, Nootau can dream-If he does have a nightmare, it’s of his previous tribe and how he was abused by his father, who is the chief of the tribe as well. When he does have these kinds of nightmares, Nootau usually leaves his nest and goes for a swim. Sounds odd, yes, but Nootau feels it literally helps “wash away the evil” he feels from the nightmares.

11.) What do they think of creation? Do they believe in evolution or do they believe in God? What is their religion like?

-Both Jade and Nootau believe the world was here with the galaxy and was created. That the dino’mon were here before them blah blah blah. But they’ve learned and have come to believe, through their tribal experiences and other learning, that there are three key subjects that help balance the world; Mother Earth/Nature, the Greater Demon, and the Greater Spirit. Mother Nature, we all already know about, helps give life and nutrition to the living and non-living beings of the world. The Greater Demon is the guider of everything evil and demented. The Greater Spirit is the guider of all spirits/souls/beings in life, regardless if they are evil or not. They don’t follow one in particular; rather, they believe that those three follow them and help them or curse them. -Plus, both of them see the souls of life. They have souls there to guide them. So this backs up their beliefs. They respect Legendaries, but don’t really follow the aspect of the Legendaries being the reason they are living.**Jade refuses to believe that there is “a being” out there that has predestined her life and she is just aimlessly walking it. So if one brought up Arceus, she simply acknowledges him as one of the Greater Spirits, and not “God of all”, as stated in a religion canon factor mentioned before**

15.) Can they multi-task or must they focus on one subject at a time?

Jade-Yes, she can multi-task. And very well actually. As an Herbal Shaman, she and Nootau were trained on it, and it was bashed into their heads that there will be times where more than one or two patients could be at their paws to look after with different symptoms, etc. Jade has it down to a pat, and not just cause of her fast moving paws. But because she has her sand whips to help her. By using them, she practically has a very good perspective on multi-tasking.

Nootau-He’s getting there. He’s not quite as fast as his sister, but he’s getting better. Unlike when he was a child child, Nootau can now use his tail to scoop some items up, if they have a handle in them that is. Otherwise, it’s harder to do.

Nootau-Not in particular. Nootau is pretty smart. After all, he’s fluently multilingual (Lakota, Spanish, English, and is currently learning Cherokee and Ojibway from Jade and books he’s found), deaf and knows sign language. So he’s pretty covered :) -Probably if you spoke to him in a different language than the ones listed above, he will be a bit confused.

22.) Does your character trust people right off the bat or does it take them some time to warm up to someone?

Nootau-He’s not naive. It takes time. With his past problems and incidents, both him and Jade don’t easily warm up to others outside of acquaintanceship. That doesn’t mean he’ll be a jerk! Nootau is very polite, and if you are mean to him a first time around, he’ll still be nice. It’s when you’re mean and curt with him a second time that he starts to lose his kind demeanor.

1.) What position does your character sleep in? ( i.e; stomach, side, back, etc. ) Describe why they do this — optional.

Jade-Jade sleeps on her stomach and side. Primarly because she sleeps in dirt and if she’s on her back, she sucks in more and has a coughing fit in the morning. But also because her tail can only close up so much, and she can’t exactly flex it without feeling uncomfortable. Most of the time, she’ll sleep belly first in her nest or dirt pile while her tail is sticking up and out, signifying where she is located. Otherwise, she can be missed pretty easily ^^”Nootau-Nootau sleeps on his stomach too or is sprawled out. Stomach because it’s natural, sprawled out when he’s overly comfortable and/or too hot. This happens more often in the summer and spring. His fluffy neck get’s hotter when his head is pressed back against it, whereas if pressed down on it, his heat simply rises off.

2.) Do they prefer romance or affection? What is the quickest way to your character’s heart?

Jade-If you had asked her at 15/16, she would’ve said “romance” all the way. But because she lost her first love and has been rejected several times in the tribe and in the city, she’s a little harder to capture her heart. However, she still is a romance at heart, and wants to have another ‘mon love her and she can love them back just as much. Affection just inevitably leaves another scarring on her, because it feels so one sided to her.

-The quickest way to stealing her heart is being yourself and allowing comfort. If you’re an asshole yet still care about her, that counts too. If you are seemingly a gentle giant but are an asshole and don’t care much about her, move on to someone else or Jade will make sure you leave her be with new scars.

Nootau-Romance. He discovered that veryquickly with Gwendolyn, his current girlfriend. Plus, he’s a softie underneath all the messed up shit that has been cursed on him.

*If he wasn’t taken~*-The quickest way to his heart is personality and if you can make him truly smile. Plus, he enjoys a little childhood memory games to play, so if you like to do that, you’d be good to go.

♢ Religions in the pokemon world

((OOC: Could you have picked an anymore complicated question that is simply NOT able to be…well…SIMPLE?! Asdfghkl;  TAKE NOTE I AM LITERALLY SPILLING WHAT COMES TO MY HEAD! I’M SORRY IF SOME OF IT IS WRONG!)

There are three main religious beliefs that are broken down:

Arceism , Giratinism, & Unioism

Arceism

The Equivalent of Catholicism

The belief in One truly Holy ‘mon that is the creator of all and guides all with His words and gives mercy to us all. That is how Arceism views their belief. Arceus was said by millions to be the creator of all; of the galaxy, of the planet, of the lands and seas and airs all around, and the true ancestor to those who are alive to this day. He died for the sins of His children and brought religious safety and hope to all. He is the balance and One who, in the eyes of Arceists, lays out your future, and the obstacles you must go through to get to the end. He is the Divine Being of all and of Nature too. It is believed Crescelia is his devoted and angelic moon follower that blesses the world with the beauty of the moon and serves as Arceus’ guard.

Giratinism

The Equivalent of Satanism

The belief of the True One being the Banished “Creator”, Giratina. Unfortunately, many view this religion as a truly sinful and evil religion to believe. The rules are viewed as wrong and everything against the beliefs of Arceism. Magic and Black Magic are two separate things that have been signified with Giratinism, however they still are viewed as “evil” and against the laws and creations done by Arceus. More spiritualism and symbolism is used in this religion, to give great honor to Giratina and his fallen Angel, Darkrai; who is also viewed as the former guard of Arceus and was banished by Crescelia when suspected and rumored “caught” having been objecting the views and rules of Arceus.

Unioism

The “Hybrid” Equivalent of Spiritualism, Buddhism & Hinduism

This religion is the most diverse and branched out religion out of the three. Most believe there is eternal balance between everything. For everything bad thing that happens, good things counter it out. For every good deed done, the mind and body are cleansed and happiness is earned. It matters not how big or how much there may be, it is always there in front of our eyes. But we have to be wise enough to see it. There is no one “God” that is in Unioism, nor is there one “Evil God”. But they balance each other out, and the teachings of accepting and understanding them are believed to bring one closer to becoming a part of everything around them. Souls are watching over every ‘mon, and each living ‘mon contains their own soul that different from another ‘mon’s, no matter bloodlines. The discovery of this religion is relatively unknown, being one of the oldest out of the three main articles of religion. Unioists believe their paths are chosen by themselves, and that it is changing everyday they make decisions, that no one can determine and plan out their futures for them. They believe the spirits and souls and passed loved ones around them are there to guide and when the time comes of passing, to lift them and support them into the afterlife of everything.

Other Legendaries themselves play a vital role in beliefs more so than with religion nowadays. Tribes and other individuals honor and worship many of them. Many would consider them Unioists, but it’s not the case. But because Legendaries are roles in beliefs, not religion (aside from Arceus & Giratina), that’s for another time and ask~

♢ Sandstream (The Pokemon ability)

It’s a phenomenon that has baffled many non-Sand Stream users. Because if the ‘mon that has this ability is calm, the affects either do not last long, or never occur outside of a fight, despite what records tell.

Tyranitar hold great power that allows them to manipulate and conjure up massive sandstorms in and out of fights. They have “sand pouches”, which are the large holes that are located in their legs and above their chest plates. If in a non soiled location, they use the sand that over time develops in their sand pouches. These pouches can produce massive amounts of soil depending on how frequent they eat earthly based objects, like rocks, soil, and types of stones. 

Like a magnet almost, the sand can be retrieved and sucked back into a Tyranitar’s body.

In some cases, the Sand Stream ability can be used in more interesting formats; like Jade with her Sandstorm, they can create obstacles, shields, weapons, and tendrils from it. 

Hippowdon are a lot “messier” when it comes to their Sand Streams. Because they naturally live in sandy patches or create large sand nests, they have an unlimited source of the soil in their backside’s holes and thus when enraged, Sand Stream is usually summoned from there. To mother Hippowdon, it’s a defense mechanism that they use to protect their newborns.

Newborn Hippopotas themselves can’t really create good Sand Stream storms. More like large puffs that confuse their enemies so that they can either attack or flee.

♢ Power sources (like electricity)

Most power sources are just a simple fire and kindling to keep it alive in many homes. It does cause enemies to locate a ‘mon easier, but it in general has served the same purposes since it was discovered and harnessed; to keep those alive and warm. 

Electricity is almost a fancy power source to get. Lightbulbs and other creations that need electricity are pretty expensive to make. Even with Electric types around to help, it’s still a big price to charge on not only companies, but residents too. But, if the deals are made properly, places like restaurants, larger homes, etc. can pay for it. electricity can be made through Pokemon (obviously) or, more commonly in rural farmlands, through hydroelectricity by a water wheel or two. 

Funnily enough, it is more common to find a residential ‘mon with both electricity and fire to keep a steady life. Fire is free, can cook food better and more thoroughly, while electricity produces better lightning in a room and is less of a threat in burning down the building.
