ok i'm really sorry because im sure youve been asked this before but i scrolled through youre blog and couldnt find it ^^; i wouldnt ask if it wasnt important to me but- what animation program do you use? sorry again for the trouble and i hope your day is lovely ~ \ o u o /
I haven’t answered this question before on tumblr, no worries :^)
uh alright, I currently use Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 for both animation and large digital drawings, but I DO NOT PARTICULARLY RECOMMEND IT FOR EITHER. My understanding is that Elements is primarily intended to be used as a photo editing program. It functions fine as a drawing medium, but there are other programs actually made solely for the purpose of drawing that may be a better investment. I personally like it, but I also really enjoy dinosaurs like tegaki, drawr, and iscribble.
While it’s quite possible to use Elements for drawing, Elements as an animation program…. functions. Sort of. And thats literally about it. Your number of frames and the file size of your project is SEVERELY limited; not to mention it only produces .gif animation files. The program is simply not made for animating.
I’m currently look around for new animation programs; my preliminary list of candidates include:
toon boom
tvpaint
adone cs4
creatoon
anime studio
a whole lot of other programs
But, I actually have no idea what program to recommend. I’m flying this gauntlet blind; I have zero experience. My teacher at school barely even knows what digital art is, so I don’t really have someone I can ask in person and it’s rather frustrating. BUT a great thing about the internet is that you have a wealth of professional knowledge at your fingertips, so I really recommend tracking down some more experienced animators (and their websites) and checking out what they have to say.
A quick google search can alleviate some of these inquiries, but If anyone else can recommend animation programs, I would really appreciate it!

This is like the least straightforward answer possible. I’m in the midst of sussing out some of my animating options and it turned into this very long monologue. I appreciate your patience with me, like dang you rock if you hung in there to read the whole enchilada. I don’t think i would’ve even stayed to read the whole enchilada. it was a big enchilada
I colored emillu's cute af fawnlock a while ago and i forgot to post it gomen ;(( line art belongs to the talent of emillu
