The way people reduce Karin’s character to “exploiting victims of war for clout” is so two-dimensional and is basically reading into her only so far as her moonscorched form. When Karin says “I’ve covered wars, you know”, it isn’t meant to be arrogant, although Daan, who was a medic in said war, obviously reads it that way. To Karin, it’s meant to point out that just because she’s a woman does not mean she doesn’t understand things, which is how she’s reading into what Daan says to her. Neither party is in the wrong, they have their own reasons to be offended by the other. The way people portray Karin as “idiot who doesn’t know what she’s talking about” is genuinely misogynistic and just a poor and lazy reading of the text (video game)
