{ ♪ } -- How had they ended up in this position? Honestly, she couldn't say. But there was one thing she was sure of: She wasn't upset about this situation at all. In fact, she practically melted in his grasp. Just as Bella was beginning to relax, she felt him nuzzle his nose against the back of her neck.

A hot flush filled her neck and cheeks, all the way up to her ears. She knew she was red as could be, but didn't dare move for fear of him worrying he had upset her somehow. Though, surely he could feel how her heart started to race. What was this all about? Did she have feelings for him or something?

It was rather cold in Elliot's room that morning, and it was the first of mornings that he had spent in his own room within the manor. Given the time of year, there was no school for the boy to attend — and so he was stuck in the house. Well, Elliot supposed, it was at least better than being stuck on campus and running into that Vessalius girl nearly every day (whether he wanted to or not). Or better yet, it was better than having to deal with unruly underclassmen who clearly didn't know how to be gentlemen yet. 

For once, his valet Leo had not yet awoken, still asleep in some adjacent room. There was little reason for Elliot to leave his room until Leo greeted him, he figured, since Leo usually woke up before him or shortly after him anyways. Wiping the sleep from his eyes he sat up, his short, blond hair a mess and sticking up every which way, he turned to grab the book that lie on the nightstand.

It was yet again a volume of Holy Knight; he had read this one time and time again, but Elliot was the kind of person to read things again if he considered them especially good. And Holy Knight? It was — as he had put it to Leo once — a classic. 

And so Elliot cozied himself up underneath his blankets, internally cursing at the cold air around him, nose deep in a book. He was so deep in his reading — for once — that he may not have been been bothered to notice if someone were to knock on his door.

{ ♪ } -- Her fingers lifted from his, a look of surprise on her face. Feeling her heart hammer in her chest, she chewed on her lip. His voice was so soft, so desperate for her to stay with him. Why did she feel so light after hearing him ask for that? Slowly, she lowered her hand over his again and gave a sheepish little smile.

"Okay. I'll stay..."
