GET ORGANISED: How to start bullet journaling!
Since I’ve started bullet journaling I’ve felt so much more in control of my life. It helped me so much during my exams but afterwards also! Keeping a bullet journal has kept me motivated but most importantly, organised. So, I’m going to help you start bullet journaling!
- a notebook: the book you use is very important because this is where you are going to log your life for as long as you can! I use a Leuchtturm1917 and it’s fabulous. The paper doesn’t bleed and barely ghosts. It’s so smooth and great for all pens. Of course the Leutchtermm is quite dear for a book so any will suffice as long as it's well structured, has a lot of paper and isn't weak because you'll be using it quite a bit!
- pens: so not everyone decorates their bullet journal but I think it’s so encouragin
g to decorate in some way or another. I like to title my pages with brush lettering and decorate with small doodles for which I can do tutorials. If you are not a letterer, you can easily buy brush lettered titles from sticker stores on etsy such as @paperkumaco and @moonlume! for writing, I personally don’t enjoy using ballpoint pens on my bullet journal because it’s too thick and not smooth. I like to use the 0.38mm Muji gel ink pen in black because it gives me precision in my writing. however, my handwriting is really small so it may not be the same for you so you can experiment. I also recommend buying some highlighters and specifically pastel ones because regular may bleed. also, some highlighters will wash your pen if you go over it so either highlight and then write or find a pen that works well with your highlighter!
- washi tapes: washi tapes are great for decorating your pages and makes it more fun to organise youself. I buy my washitapes online from stores such as @missrosieshop, @kawaiipenshop and @pastelxplanning. you can use washi tapes in loads of different ways; it can simply be decoration, it can be backgrounds and it can also be used to stick pictures! you can get 10% off at http://missrosieshop.com?afmc=CALLI10 using my code CALLI10 and 15% off at https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/PastelxPlanning?ref=search_shop_redirect with my code CALLI15 💖
- printed photos: sometimes if you have a colour scheme on your log, you can collect pictures from tumblr and pinterest in that colour scheme for your bullet journal. these simply bring your page to life but sometimes you can add pictures with quotes to keep you inspired and motivated.
-stickers: these are great space fillers because sometimes you don’t always have a lot to do in a week. stickers are available on many stores ranging from paperchase to online stores such as missrosieshop, kawaiipenshop and pastelxplanning.
With a bullet journal you have to stick to it. It’s no use having a bullet journal if you’re only going to fill in two days! Your bullet journal is going to help you stay motivated, plan, schedule and overall have a sense of control. This will help you stay secure and determined. I have found that bullet journaling also helps a lot with my anxiety as it keeps me focused and doesn’t allow me to stray to think about upsetting things. As long as you become best friends with you bullet journal, it will be an enlightening experience!
I HOPE THIS HAS BEEN HELPFUL!! Happy bullet journaling guys!
