SARA ALWAYS LOOKS FORWARD TO vacations outside of the city. A time to relax and just be in the presence of the other rather than having to constantly put on a show for her family and friends. Despite the fact that Sara loves her lifestyle and wouldn't change it for the world, the quiet side of this love affair was equally lovely. She had already flown them out to arrive in Hawaii a day or so before she would, not wanting anyone to catch on that this little trip was for the two of them. However, the moment Sara was off the plane she was glad to be in an environment where she could relax in a five star hotel and not have a care in the world. She smiled as the door to their shared suite swung open, rolling her bag into the seating area and walking to the balcony where her lover stood overlooking the sea. "I think I could get used to such a beautiful view," she teased.

where?: at libby’s apartment getting ready to go out. libby is being very indecisive.

“does my ass look crazy in this?” libby is posing in the full length mirror, head craned over her shoulder. every few seconds she’ll shift positions and hit another pose— peace sign, hand on pocket, tongue out, so on, so forth. “like, in a bad way.” she’s constantly overthinking herself in reference to the world around her, even going to the club? no different. “maybe i should just wear my lucky jeans.” she means the vibe, but also coincidentally, the brand. libby throws her hands up in a dramatic sigh. “ugh, i give up. i have nothing to wear. help me? pretty pleeaaase? “ she pouts over at them, hands pressing together in a beg. “i’ll buy the first round.”

maybe if cecily was a better person, the choice would be an easier one. the choice being saffron or a handsome male (keyword: male) stranger, her best friend or the lie she’d been living as long as she could remember. but she wasn’t a good person, probably — she was selfish and self-serving and scared. scared of what being with saffron for real would mean.  she was, however, equally scared of losing her, so when the blonde approached, she detached herself from the man — a pharmacist from a well-to-do family with a summer home in the hamptons, she’d managed to ascertain — and rejoined her best friend with a diplomatic smile. “i still need to get his number,” she murmured in saffron’s ear, “so we better be quick.” maybe he was the type to enjoy a little show, though. she let her hand slip down the other’s side to rest on her hip, glancing over her shoulder — yes. he was watching. “you having a good time?”

of all the things she had expected to hear, that certainly wasn't it. her eyes closed for a moment, a pained smile tugging at the corner of her lips. "don't," she murmured, finally looking over at cassandra. "please don't say things like that." there was no anger in her voice—just years of heartbreak that was beginning to fray at the edges. "do you have any idea how badly i want to believe you? how easy it'd be if i just let myself?" blair inhaled shakily, fingers curling at the edge of her skirt. it was cruel how long it'd taken for them to get to this point, and everything blair had always wanted seemed to be handed to her on a silver platter after only a matter of days.

blair shook her head, forcing a few inches of distance between them before her resolve disappeared entirely. "i know this isn't sudden for you," she admitted softly. "i know you've carried me with you for all these years... and god, i hate i'm the reason you had to." her gaze searched cass's face, like she was trying to memorize it all over again. "but you've had twenty-five years to build a life without me. you've loved people, you've made memories, you became someone i never got to know." her voice faltered slightly. "i don't want to be the ghost that convinces you none of it mattered. i left once already, cass. i'm not going to come back just to take everything else from you."
