Could be that the child turns out not to be his! If this is really the cliffhanger.

I had that thought after I posted it, but I still can't truly reconcile it, story wise. What would a long lost child (even one that ends up not even being his) add to the overarching Castle story? Is it someone gunning for his finances? Is it someone (a mob boss's daughter/girlfriend maybe? Since apparently the mob's involved somehow in the ep) thinking he can help them get out of a bad situation by lying? Is it supposed to be something that casts more doubt on his fidelity to Beckett or throws him under the bus from when he was more of a partier? What would the overall goal of that story line be?

I don't know, I just don't see it, especially if the cliffhanger really is something that is resolved reasonably well within a few episodes after the break. I won't rule it out completely, but it's tough to find a story that works for me. That's why I'm going to stick to it being more of a crack!speculation than anything else for now.

:D :D Thank you! I'm really enjoying playing with them like this. They're out of their element, but there's still so much affection there so they'll fumble through the awkwardness and figure it out.
