I'm still learning the basic concepts of painting but when my other option is editing the least favorite chapter of my book...
Stumbled upon @ummmmandy‘s adorable dollmaker today, and spent way too long making a bunch of my characters. So here’s the moptail crew... roughly humanized because there wasn’t a blue skin option. Up top we’ve got standard Milu (mom) and Mitchel (dad). In the middle are two variant Milus (having a wildly good time vs back in the day). And on the bottom are the kids: Milly (younger daughter), Yoseph (neighbor kid who has adopted himself into the family), and Mika (older son).
Did some quickie sketches to test out S Note and the different brushes on my new phone.
2017, the year of redrawing all my old crap, apparently. Anyway, here’s Milu and her son Mika, swimmin’, as one does when you’re semi-aquatic. The old one is from way back in 2011, and it was supposed to be landscape, but I put it here as portrait for better comparison. I may still not always love my art, but redraws help me remember that I’ll always get better, long as I keep trying. =]
My usual test subjects, Milu and Mika. I downloaded Krita on a new tablet laptop to try it out, and so far I like it a lot, aside from the touchscreen settings. smh But anyway. Turned out well enough for not having drawn for quite a while.
I accidentally changed his expression a little when I colored him. Oops. Anyway, I flat-out stole this design from an unnamed anime character I love (I wonder which one~), but only because I realized that this green eyes/ messy hair/ cute freckles combo was totally a possibility for Milu and Mitchel’s children. So now they have a third child, whose name is Mito (at least unless I think of something better). He got basically all the recessive genes, so he looks a little different from his siblings.
Another messy compilation, for completion’s sake. Moptails, this time. Not all of these make any sense, unfortunately. Like the first one is just a random moptail, not one of the characters. And the second one is AU centaur versions of Mika and Yoseph.
Damn, I keep forgetting whenever I draw them, but I was thinking of making my moptails more froglike. Maybe their eyes, I’m not sure. Maybe their leg structure. I’m just so tired of humanoids that look like you slapped a tail on ‘em! XD;
