January Update

Brianne sat for a moment with some of Peter’s friends and found herself momentarily without her date by her side as he went for-- something. It had been too loud to actually hear him properly across the music so Brie had smiled and nodded as if she knew exactly what he had said. She turned to face Sirius, leaning closer to speak. “So! Sirius. Has Peter said anything about me? Does he actually like me? And how far do you think he’ll be expecting us to go tonight?” It was the hardest thing about going on a date with somebody you didn’t know so well and she knew that the drunker she got the harder she would find it to read the mood, so it would be a good idea to know what to expect. Who better to ask than one of his best friends?

When: 24th December Where: Potter Residence Who: Remus && @morallyblack​

There was a difference between him knowing Sirius going to the Yule Ball with Bertha had really been the fault of James and Marlene, and finding it within himself to act maturely about the matter to Sirius himself. A few days had passed since the ball, now, the first mostly taken with hangovers Remus was blessed to not have to deal with and the journey from Scotland to Burton-on-Trent. The following days had been them enjoying time as a group, something that had felt harder to come by in recent months with all the distractions of Hogwarts.

Preparations for the party that evening were in full flow and Remus was happy to try and avoid being dragged into helping. He retreated to a smaller sitting room (what ridiculous sort of house had multiple sitting rooms anyway) and let out a breath of relief to find it empty of decorating and all people other than Sirius. The thought of another party was enough to drive away his bitterness over the last one. He slumped into the seat next to him and pulled a face. “How is it we’re already having to go through another party? Who even has parties this close to Christmas Day?” Rich people was the answer and he already knew it but he still pulled a face at Sirius to show the irritable mood a soon approaching Full Moon would always cause.

Where: Gryffindor 7th year boys’ dormitory When: Friday, October 15th, 2.21pm Who: Remus && @morallyblack

Remus lay on his stomach on his bed, an open pack of chocolate buttons next to his elbow and two teacups in front of him. One was formerly a Zonko’s nose-biting teacup and the other a regular one pinched from the Great Hall. Both had been heavily enchanted as Remus mindlessly experimented on them. He honestly had little idea what he was trying to do but he had finished lessons for the day and didn’t want to spend his Friday afternoon doing work. He was tired of the Quidditch talk of the rest of the castle and practising charms was an easy way for him to ward away boredom.

“We need a Hogsmeade weekend,” he declared, looking up at Sirius. “Things are so fucking weird right now.” Yes, there were the Aurors and then the tragic ending to Ludo’s party, but there was something else which Remus couldn’t quite put his finger on. Something about the atmosphere had changed recently and he didn’t think it was just because of the Quidditch loss at the weekend. It was one of those feelings he preferred not to voice, because it was one of those gut feelings that he was sure boiled down to wolf senses. A Hogsmeade weekend could be just the thing they needed to relax a bit.

“And I need to go shopping,” he added, poking his wand towards the former-nose-biting teacup, which squirmed away. He had been using refilling charms on his ink and it was starting to look more grey than black when he used it. He was always happy to pick up some more of his favourite Honeydukes chocolate if he had enough spare cash and of course there was also— “Pads, what do you want for your birthday?” With another prod, the teacup jumped right off his bed and smashed on the floor. Remus sighed. “Reparo.” The shards of ceramic flew back into place and the cup wobbled on the floor.

🎶Do they have a type?

Walden has two types. They’re either innocent or at least, innocent-looking just waiting to be corrupted, or they’re actual demons hiding behind masks. It’s a bonus if they’re both.

🏷️Do they give their partners cute nicknames?

Andromeda could give a partner a cute nickname, but it always ends up resounding into her calling them an idiot.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦Do they want children?

Yes. But seeing how she and her sisters were raised, the neglect of Sirius from his parents, she does fear she’ll turn into her mother if she simply has children for the sake of carrying on the Pureblood line. She also doesn’t plan to really have them if she’s being forced into a marriage--a pathetic act of rebellion on her end. One child is enough.

❌Would they ever cheat on their partner?

No. Marlene considers that the cowardly escape from a relationship, something people do when they’re too spineless to end things and move on properly, to respect that person. Even if breaking up to be with someone else might seem as heinous, at least you could count on him to be the one to tell them to their face.

📺 Do they share information about their relationships freely with friends and family?

Being the youngest of seven children, Marlene’s siblings have a tact to find things out about her while she’s in school without knowing, and it annoys her to no end, but they did find out about her having a girlfriend last year and was supportive. She won’t share things about relationships unless it’s someone she trusts the most. Lily, Dorcas, Mary, and James all knew about Marlene’s relationship with Theo Stebbins, kept hidden because Theo wasn’t ready for the rest of the school to know about her sexuality yet, and Marlene wanted to respect that.

💝How long until they feel secure and comfortable in a relationship?

A while. James has had a handful of almost-girlfriends, and his first real steady relationship with Florence Blishwick. With Florence, it took about three months (they started dating in January of 6th year, but had been hanging out since the summer before 6th year term started). It wasn’t as forthcoming as he might’ve expected, but it was there eventually.

🔮Do they believe in soul mates?

Yes. But you won’t catch him saying that out loud. When it was just he and Sirius, he could disperse deeper thoughts about himself that he might’ve not planned to tell anyone. Sirius is likely the only person who knows this particular fact about James.
