Morang

“As a member of the Anurai clan, Morang is a dancer by craft and a deadly hunter by trade. Having grown up in the bone sanctuary of her clan and away from the larger clans of the jungles and eastern seas, she had no interest in connecting with other Na'vi. Her passion was improving her skills. While other Na'vi perceive her as mysterious and secretive, this hasn't stopped her from being recognized as an expert hunter, using her famous flaming bola.”

2026 reference for Morang (part 1) work clothes worn when collecting animals the sea side rocks and tide pools.

Whale ticks will wash up in bulks. And maanul children have been prone to picking them up because of their large size and somewhat "funny" orb appearance. Unless they're washed up dead, the whale tick will flap its flippers when disturbed, usually creating a slight slapping sound as it hits itself due to how engorged they are, as well as flashing the yellow underside of said flippers. It is usually enough to scare off predators, or the sophonts fledglings into at least dropping them.

The opposite may occur, where the children will bother the Oiwi more, because they want to see it react and do its thing again. It may result in death by exhaustion if they're relentless enough.

Bonus of fledgling Morang hopping after Monmartre while holding a tick, Monmartre is running away in fear because of parasites, she also believed (like many) that the tick would latch onto her and turn her into a dry raisin. In reality, the chances of an adult whale tick attaching to a maanul are extremely low, mostly because it would not work.
