Teaming up with that squid girl from the television...

Well, there's a first time for everything, she thinks. Maria's restless dreams led her out to the keep, and her reluctance to bring Blue along led her to find a horse sitter.

Armed with her Calamity Rifle and whatever supplies she could bring along, she hopes things will go well without the rest of her posse. Frye will have to do her best to fill in for the other three.

Past the entry room, there's a wizened old man with a long white beard sitting by himself. He's too busy pondering the orb on the table to pay attention to Maria and Frye.

Maria glances at her new companion, then takes a step closer to the old man. Frye's got plenty of time to run past her if she wants to try to get his attention first.

"So humans aren't really, um... It's mostly just... seafolk? Where you come from?"

Which does sound hard to believe, but it's not like Alphys hadn't researched alternate universes before. Though she hadn't imagined there'd be anything like this...

"And you're not monsters, or, m... made of magic. Here, let me, um..."

She rummages through her bag, then offers the young woman a bandage to cover a scrape she saw on her earlier.

"Oh, come... come on. Stupid little... thing..."

You can't help but grumble under whatever passes for your breath as your ribbons swipe ineffectively at the touchscreen. You aren't even sure why it's so important to you that you're able to use the smartphone, because knowing Caine it'll just have an app that plays various cartoon sound effects. Maybe it's just that glimmer of hope, the faintest chance that maybe, just maybe, there could be a lifeline somewhere in this thing. A way to contact the outside world, a way to call for help, or even just a #!$@ manga reader app to keep you busy.

Is this what Pomni felt like when she was chasing that exit door? Maybe this is what makes you abstract.

Regardless, the issue is that your fun ribbon body just plain doesn't work with a touchscreen. You know a lot of these things have voice commands, but it won't matter if Caine included them or not if you can't even get past the lock. Thankfully, there are plenty of NPCs around, so hopefully one of them will be helpful.

"Uh, excuse me?" you call out to a colorful passerby. "Sorry to bother you, but could you help me with this phone? I can't really get it to work... Um, no hands."

You wiggle your free hand appendage over the screen to illustrate how nothing happens. "Would've been nice if he accounted for accessibility a little more..."

Sparring session finished, and Oliver used the break time to rehydrate and stuff his stomach up with food. Maybe he shouldn't eat so quickly though. "You're really strong y'know that? I bet you win ALL your battles," he says with a mouthful of food. He even shoots the lady with the eels a smile. No manners, but she didn't seem like someone who'd care about all that. Maybe?

At least this time he finishes his food and speaks again, "I don't have a lot of sparring partners, so thank you for sparring with me! It brought back some really fun memories!"

"I'm not a fan of rules myself," They say with a chuckle. "BUT, rules are set for a reason." They don't think they have to tell this person that though. "Not that I abide by them for the most part." Indigo playfully winks and flips their braided hair over their shoulder.

"Wanna see what they do up there?" They don't really have to sneak into the top floors of the Fibonacci's tall ass skyscraper.

While the allure of treasure might've been the reason that a certain squid had found this estate quite appealing. Shadow had come here to learn about local lores, and scope general places out.

He was normally good about minding his own business and turning a blind eye if it didn't involve him.

But...Something told him this was going to turn very very bad for the both of them if he didn't at least try to intervene.

"Are you stuffing your pockets?!" Came a strained whisper, the eerie silence of this place hinted that there maybe something stalking the outskirts of this property, and the hedgehog really didn't want to find out. "Is this really the time or place?!"

Xiaotian is a city boy, but this place sure did take things to a whole new level! Megapolis was supposed to be one of the largest cities, like, ever... and Spirale practically gave his hometown a run for its money! Hah...

Yeah, he's lost.

At least a lot of the people around here seemed pretty nice? No one looked like they'd bite his head off just for asking directions, at least.

"Hey! Uh, sorry to bother ya, but could you point me in the direction of the nearest fast food joint or something? I'd use my phone but it, uh... I landed on it wrong,"

“Are you sure you can get up this high?”

Edgar has long since been perched on a higher part of the tree, where he’s found a branch sturdy enough to hold his weight and that has a decent view of the park ahead.

It’s not like he’s daring her to do it, but instead worried that the determined person standing below might just be getting ahead of herself.

“There’s nothing down there to break your fall if you lose your grip.”

…On second thought though. He starts scaling his way back down the way he came. If he’s down there, he can try to catch her in that case then at the very least!
