So, recent news brings an interesting question to mind, would a total cessation of US-China trade be worse for the US than a single thermonuclear missile strike on the US mainland?

I can use nukemap to find the short-term consequences of a nuclear strike, but I do wonder what the long-term policy response would be.  How large of an area would be designated as long-term uninhabitable?
