Now the day is 1 hour and 45 minutes longer than on December 21 st 2024 here in Norway. :-) The days are getting longer and longer and that's a blessing.

Toward the light
I, for one, am more than happy to slip the surly bonds of this beleaguered world today for a contemplation of cosmic events.
At 10:59 a.m. EST the sun will reach its most southerly position, directly over the Tropic of Capricorn. This remains true despite COVID, vanishing democratic rule, political turmoil, etc. .... even the degradation of the earth itself.
In a highly unreliable world, the winter solstice remains steadfast and punctual in its mission to brighten the days of us in the Northern Hemisphere.
Today, the first day of winter, is the darkest day of the year - the implication being that it won't get any darker.
Daylight is on the upswing.
Sometimes you post these beautiful scenic photos and I think, "One day I shall go live some place that is beautiful and scenic in all seasons including winter, and get a dog companion!" and then you post things like, "Here's a cell phone video because the cold murdered my camera, and other things the season did," and I am reminded that I should Stay Down Here, Actually. Living vicariously and staying realistic! 👍👍👍
This message actually made me laugh out loud, so thanks for that! Living anywhere with cold winters is definitely an adjustment but you really can't beat that aesthetic 👌👌👌
Happy Winter Solstice!
i feel so great the sun has me thinking I'm on some sort of party drug or smthng
