Two Relationships
A two-year romance with a long distance lover. A ten-year affair with my long hair.
The former was over like it never really had a chance. The latter, its consequent victim.
The first cut slammed my eyes shut, but soon it was easy to watch the layers fall. After having so many pieces of me broken off without my consent, it felt good to cut away something that was only mine to sever.
In time, I’ll stop reaching for the phantom curls that still hug me like lovers gone wrong. Sooner or later, dead ends and heartaches all fall away.

The Fight
The end goal never really changes...only the circumstances....sometimes we lose sight but it waits, ever-vigilant, sometimes taunting, others crying out for our notice.... She'd never brought Ala'stor back to the compound....not after those in the dwelling sat idly knowing he was in danger; her eldest, Lleu was with his five-year-old brother at the apartments she kept in Tranquillien while she sought to secure the now-abandoned Carnesir Estate for refurbishment. The ends of Azeroth.... Deylivia had upended her life on the chance her sons would be together again and even if it was fleeting - it was all she'd needed to reaffirm her purpose. She had hesitated before shutting the door that evening, watching the two play, if only for that evening. Lleu was over a decade older and feigned weakness, letting his baby brother tackle him to the ground. "I fight for you," she whispered and was off. "I fight for your fathers," she thought, recalling the things she'd done to be certain no necromancer could raise them, " for I know each loved his son in his own way." Her boys had each fought for her the previous evening, in their own way, watching husband battle wife and each had gone to war while inside her. You shouldn't have to fight. Her final arrival at the Compound was quiet, nodding her usual greeting to its inhabitants, whose function she never really knew.... "What do they fight for?" It was an honest question, for despite the fact she'd promised to give her best, Dey couldn't help but notice there was no conviction here. No goal beyond the highest bidder and there were not many bidders left at this point. She'd stopped fighting prior to agreeing to guard a criminal organization at the request of one of her oldest friends. She was on the run, her elder son was missing...."I fight for Nae'rth." An old friend needed her help -- then he vanished.
She'd never really belonged here...never wanted to be here...they fought for nothing here. Worse yet, they took the fight out of her. Those days were over...she had Lleu, no thanks to the Organization. Breezing up the stairs, Deylivia packed what she could carry; some clothes, but mostly supplies and slung the satchels over one shoulder. Leaning over her desk, quill met parchment for the last time in these quarters - a simple message scrawled, BREACH OF CONTRACT. A quiet prance up the spiral staircase to Xarriel's suite and a smirk later the note was fixed to the door with the point of the trademark rose-hilted dagger. Moments later Deylivia Wind'striker was gone. In the days following, it was as though Quel'Thalas had awakened in her. She had returned to the Eastern Kingdoms after the Darkspear revolution with Shadowhaven, an Order that had officially withdrawn support of Garrosh's Horde, backing Sylvanas Windrunner instead. It had been two years from that point to now...two years in hiding that had put a new perspective on her home. Her goals were still grand as they were so many years ago when she served a Noble House. Lord Carnesir handed titles out carelessly then - she was the Lord's Consort which gave her high station and rank; something others loyal to House Carnesir resented - and she was sure the Noble set continued the practice. Ideals. She'd spent so much time fighting for the ideals of others...it was past time she'd found her own. Her walks through Southern Quel'Thalas gave her a partial peace... she passed the ruins of her childhood home near the Sanctum hearing the whispers of her mother, "fight for us..."....of all that died in the fall of Quel'Thalas when she was still a child. Is this why the call it the Ghostlands? The trees seemed less corrupt...there was less death in the air. My home... She knotted her blood orange hair in a knot, staring across the lake at the Farstrider Enclave, recalling the day she'd volunteered. Her first mission to Kalimdor when she was barely of age had been a Farstrider group. Smiling, the pride swelled in her when she thought of Ashenvale and of Falcon Watch. Full circle and forward. The Phoenix Guard... She'd seen the posters about the City for a group focused on the whole of Quel'Thalas from within and beyond.... Fight with me... Captain Ronaestrider and a nameless ranger with a sharp tongue and a whittling knife had been friendly at the last Farstrider meeting... she'd begun attending, in need of a starting point. Test your will... Finally one evening, Deylivia Gal'Adur Wind'Striker penned a new letter watching Ala'stor sleep at her feet offering her services to the Order, whose values and goals seemed to mirror her own. Whistling for Hollows, her Hawk-Owl, she tied the rolled parchment to his leg, whispering, "Captain Ruthar Ronaestrider" and kissed his toe as he fluttered away. Crawling to the floor with her baby, she held him tight and closed her eyes. As sleep came, the words flashed through her head, "I fight because I fight. It is in me....I fight for my children....my loved ones...for Quel'Thalas....that the living should not have to fight. I fight for their fathers....my mother....so those no longer with us did not fight in vain.
Last Beachside Staff Outing :( Our coordinators sent us on a Scavenger Hunt, just like they did at the beginning of the year, except this was much more personal and meaningful. Each clue led us to a spot in Long Beach that was special to somebody on staff. At that place, that person would have a heartfelt letter from the coords read to them by their partner. Then everyone would go around and say something they loved, admired, or will miss about that person. We ended the day at Jenna's, with KBBQ and her jacuzzi. It was such a great way to get out our goodbyes. Emotional for sure. I have loved being on this staff. We were so dynamic and worked SO well as a group. We made Beachside a community and really brought together the residents. I am going to miss these people.
Another good bye for 2012 :S, so this is what you are about 2012, and i am afraid because you have already taken much, too much, there is nothing much left here, and i am afraid of what you could be taking more from me now, what ever 2010 left you took away and you still are threatening to take away. I do not fight things like that, i never will so take what you want, it would be great if you took me too :)
Faking smiles, hmmmmm, if only they knew my heart, IF ONLY.
but i'll let them wonder what "makes" me smile, may be i smile only because i am the only one who got hold the answers to their questions and i am the only one who knows what is going on in my own heart and mind, they can wonder and question, i'll miss-lead them.
there is not much to lose now,
and here it is, time to let everyone down, time to go away :)
less than 2 months to go 2012 take away all you want to take, because you will end and may be i will still be here or may be not, 2013 i do not have much to bring to you......
