What women want.
Someone please tell me
what it is about my human nature that makes me want pockets on pockets on pockets in all of my bags
Given that men and women both used to wear more dress-like clothing as revently as the early renaissance (and still do in places like saudi arabia/japan etc), how did pants emerge as traditionally masculine and dresses as more femine in Western society? Why was it not the other way around?
Because one is more practical and allowed the wearer to do things. The patriarchy jumped on the whole gender specific clothing very fast and made it illegal to wear trousers for centuries (our lady Joan of Arc died so we can wear leggings, people). They framed it as a modesty thing, men could show off legs and women where supposed to keep their legs a secret. Even today, the patriarchy are withholding pockets from us.
I feel like the fact that girls respond to someone complementing their dress with, "...and look! It has pockets!" just proves how pocket-starved we are
i hate tote bags. they do not have enough pockets. they are unstructured. it just flops over and everything gets lost inside. i need structure in my bag
