Over 40 available dogs in the shelter hope so… they hope you will visit the shelter and choose one of them. The shelter is packed. They are surrounded every day by howling, barking, crying, desperation. Desperate to find a new home. Crying for being abandoned at the shelter, the owners they once knew never coming to bring them home. Howling & barking from the stress of being caged day after day, and trying with every fiber in their being to get your attention. They watch each visitor with hopeful eyes. We watch visitors walk past so many of them because of their breed. Behind that breed is a living, feeling being. 911 EMERGENCY CALL FOR HELP! We can’t express enough how dire the situation is. 18 more dogs have come in over the past 24 hours. The shelter simply had no more kennel space. DOGS MUST EXIT BY THURSDAY AS SHELTER IS CLOSED FRIDAY & SATURDAY. THERE IS MO MORE ROOM! Dogs are coming in droves, in with only a few returned to their owners, most are failing to reclaim their dogs right before the holidays. Few adopted. The shelter is overfilled more than it’s been in a long time. Kennels must be cleared immediately. The longest large breeds are now in imminent in danger of losing their lives. We need everyone to please help us get the word out these dogs are in big trouble. These sweet dogs like Eve, Chico, Dayton, Randee, Cole, Garin, Ziggy, Odin, Scarlett, Rollie, Gordo, Indy, Presley, Heaven being the longest residents will be the first to be walked to the E-ROOM, never to return. The shelter needs adopters/rescues for large breed dogs today as there is no more space in the main kennels. If you can’t make a lifelong commitment but are set up to foster a large breed dog for a few months until they find a home, please note your foster offer. Sadly here we are, right before the holidays, with the shelter have 3 consecutive weeks of adoption events (on through this Thursday the 16th) and barely any dogs getting out, all the while dogs are coming in droves, in the last 6 days, 30 dogs have come in, only 2 picked up by their owner and only 5 large dogs adopted or returned to their owner. This takes the shelter's main kennels from having space to overfilled and again the position of needing to clear kennels immediately. The longest large breeds are again in danger of losing their lives. We need everyone to please help us get the word out these dogs are in big trouble. The shelter needs adopters/rescues for large breed dogs now as there is more space in the small dog room for smaller breeds, to the main kennels for larger breeds are those with limited space.
