This is my dog, Luna. I posted about her before but it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything period. But I wanted to share her 1 year rescued story.

I wasn’t there for her beginning. I am the foster fail who adopted her about 4 months after she was found at a gas station, alone and starving, and taken to a rescue shelter. There she was estimated to be about 3 years old, heartworm positive, and only 27lbs. The rescue group got her to a healthy weight of 45 lbs, vaccinated, spayed, and ready to foster in a calm home while she undergoes heartworm treatment.

That’s where I came in. I saw the groups post on Facebook. They said she seemed to be cat friendly and was already housebroken and kennel trained (which is important for me with 2 cats and a hospital job). I decided to help this dog (my 2 cats were from shelters) and I immediately fell in love. She fell in love with my cats. My cats were not so pleased. They now get along but the cats do think she’s too loud.

Last Thanksgiving, this dog, Luna, found a small kitten lost in the backyard. I mean maybe a 1lb small. That kitten was following Luna and Luna was watching her closely. That baby was starving. After searching, no mother cat was found. No siblings either. Someone had placed a bracelet around the kitten’s neck. Knocking on doors yielded no results. Knowing my area, some kids likely removed the kitten from her litter, played with her, left her, and she was lost. And a dog that was once lost and starving at a gas station rescued her. I now have 3 cats. Luna and Bit Bit the kitten are inseparable.

A year ago she was lost and 27 lbs. She will never know that life again.

Save dogs

You know, friend of mine just accidentaly found instagram profile where a guy posts videos where he is killing dogs. She reported that profile. Why does he do that? I do not understand WHY THE HELL?! What did that dog do to you? I know, I regret human lives too, but those people act to dogs like they are piece of shit. Okay, you don't like dogs, then leave them. So many people are like 'come on, these are JUST damned dogs, who even cares about them'. Well they are not JUST dogs, they are living beings and they have emotions, feelings,traits... so as humans and some other animals. They live, love, feel. How do people say? 'Put yourself in her/his shoes' or 'Don't do to others what you wouldn't like others to do to you'. It's same about dogs. I would like to ask those mean people how they would feel if someone would throw an axe or rocks or anything at them? How would they feel if someone starved them and kicked them on the street? Do they ever even think about it? I really, really appreciate those people who are actually saving dogs and who care about them. Try to save more lifes. Any.
