So a friend of mine went on a 10-day juicing diet. When the diet was over, she went to one of her favorite restaurants. She ordered a lemonade -- a drink she absolutely loves -- but when she tasted it, it was really tart. She had her friend try it, and her friend thought it tasted fine. My friend tasted it again, and to her, it was nasty. She couldn't even finish it. She realized that in 10 days, her taste buds had changed. As she told me this story, I realized a few things: 1. When a lifestyle change happens, your tastes and desires change. 2. You may immediately realize the above has taken place -- or you may not. But believe you me, the moment you try to return to the familiar, you will be hit with the reality that you don't even like what you once loved. 3. In this lifestyle change, what you see, hear, touch, smell, and taste will begin to differ from others' perceptions -- even from those in your circle -- regardless of the length of days in which you have walked with them. What you once loved has become bitter to you, but to others, it's still good. : : Embrace growth. Embrace those moments -- those resets -- in which God manuevers and matures you. Yes, some habits will die. Yes, what you once enjoyed and longed for will bring you no pleasure -- especially, if it takes you away from Him and His presence. And yes, you will find that as you grow, there are people around you who will not. They will remain the same. They will perceive the same, and they will not change. So the question is this: Are you willing to embrace the change and pay the cost for more of Him? : : #lemonade #reset #lifestylechange #moreofGod #thecost #whenHeisworthit #yes #growth #maturity #theadventureofHim #embracethechange #change #story #parallel #revelation #teachingmoment #encouragement #taylurwithau #comeforth #amwriting #iwrite #scribe #author #poet #writer #GodSpeaksiWrite #thescribesheart #instagood #photooftheday #picoftheday
