“Wendy.” He waited for her to turn to her, eyes catching hers as he moved through the steaming water of the Roman bath, which was honestly more like a massive pool. Pausing in his wading until he was only inches away from her, bodies not touching as he waited for that sign of acceptance, never wanting to take something from her she was unwilling to give. Not after what she’d endured.
Only when he saw it in her eyes did he close the distance, tenderly claiming her lips with his, holding back only just barely until she gave some sign to give in fully to the draw that was her.
The way he said her name was something that she could never fully explain, or understand. It sounded to her as if her very name on his lips gave them both life. The water creating small ripples as they moved to one another, and even more forming as their lips met in a tender embrace.
There was something about Haemon that just made her feel safe, and at peace. Perhaps it was simply the god in him but in reality it was so simple. She loved him, and she loved whom he made her. Her hands gently wrap around his neck as she pulls herself closer to him, whispered as such against his lips through their kiss.
