I designed my very first bag a few years back, for a contest entitled « Les Espoirs de la Création du Comité Colbert », and won a two months internship at Chanel Production in order to develop a prototype. At the time I was studying textile design, and was focused on quilting. This technique is based on the combination of several layers of material stitched together by a yarn. Amongst other features, quilts are double-sided. That’s what gave me the idea to design a reversible version of the 2.55 Chanel handbag. I added zippers on each side of the bag which enable you to open it flat and close it with the other side out. Here are the final prototype crafted in collaboration with Chanel and part of the project I submitted for the competition.
