I’m neither pro nor anti, but they are basically fairly obscure actors who’ve had choices to make in how to respond to their own bad behavior. Thus far, they’ve chosen poorly. That seldom ends well.

Logically, if they just have Emily ‘on loan’ then they would have to group ALL of the ’re-catching escaped killers’ eps in consecutive order.
Meaning there would be 13 straight eps where they successfully caught an escaped killer EACH ep.
That would leave about 10 episodes left int he end of the season without an ongoing plot.
I don’ think that’s likely. I think what is more likely is that they will sprinkle the escaped killer eps THROUGHOUT the season, to keep people interested.
And we know Paget isn’t in the ENTIRE season, so unless Emily comes back and catches every serial killer immediately, and in order…then she’s going to be in various episodes that are probably not consecutive.
Which brings me to my theory that she could be section chief. Because, again, she wouldn’t fly in and out all season and it’s illogical for her to quit Interpol and come back to the FBI.
BUT Criminal Minds has the absolute worst continuity of any show I’ve ever loved, so for all I fucking know Emily will show up and they will pretend like she’s been there all along and the writers will expect the fans just to nod and say, “Yep, seems logical”
