Not for the first time, Riley considers what a bad idea this is.

She's always liked to toe the legal line and exist in the gray areas, but she has a real job, too. She pays taxes and rides the Tube. She pays her rent on time and walks her dog. She’s actually pretty normal. Except for the part where she steals data and sells it to the highest bidder.

And that is why she’s loitering in this empty warehouse on a rainy night.

She knows people. She doesn’t hurt innocent people or do anything all that morally wrong, but she knows people. And she’s been hearing rumors for years about some guy who can get anything done. For a price. Turns out that illegal activity pays pretty well, and there’s only one thing she actually, really wants.

Riley fidgets and shifts her weight, looking around the empty space again like it will have changed in the last two minutes. She’s hungry. She was too panicky to eat earlier. She's still pretty panicky.

This is a such a bad idea, and if this Moriarty or, more likely, one of his representatives doesn’t show up in, like, fifteen minutes, she’s bailing.
