Temple Square is the most significant site for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (aka Mormons). It was here that the church pioneers decided to build their first temple and it’s been the center of the church and SLC ever since.

Temple Square has grown to cover five city blocks and includes historic sites, the headquarters of the church, gardens, statues, fountains, The Tabernacle, The Church History Museum, etc. The temple is being renovated (it’s covered with scaffolding) and won’t reopen until 2026. All visitors are welcome.

Everything is on a grand scale. It’s an impressive site. The flowers were beautiful when I visited in October. I didn’t spend much time there but I did see the statue of Brigham Young. They offer free tours of the grounds.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert

Kenneth Brailsford, founder and general partner of KEB Enterprises, LLP, is an experienced entrepreneur and longtime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Since 2009, Kenneth Brailsford has served as a part-time volunteer at the church’s sacred temple in Salt Lake City, located next door to the Mormon Tabernacle, which hosts the famous group the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Internationally known for its high-quality performances, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir comprises 360 men and women, who sing with the Grammy-winning group on a volunteer basis. One of the largest events of the year for the choir, its annual Christmas performance, traditionally takes place on four consecutive nights each December. This year, the group’s Christmas concert will take place across three nights due to scheduling conflicts, from Thursday, December 17, to Saturday, December 19. Tickets to the event are free, but must be requested online from the church’s official website. Songs that the choir has performed for Christmas concerts in the past include “O Holy Night,” “Carol of the Bells,” and “Joy to the World.”

Посетил небольшой концерт органной музыки. Классные впечатления от хорошей музыки. В концертном зале очень толстые стены и потолок (около 90 см), это даёт ему очень сильную акустику. Перед началом концерта органист продемонстрировал это, разорвав лист бумаги на сцене, звук был слышен во всем зале.
