one of the cishet guys in my worklunchfriendgroup (the one who's not in the GC because he understandably won't use messenger) comes off as pretty normie overall but the specific combination of

(1) seems relatively principled (not elaborating, this also obviously can only be a provisional impression especially of a coworker, you never know)

(2) very longterm big into lifting (before that, cross-country)

(3) talks about his bio deepdive hormones and signaling pathways etc. etc. wrt lifting / general interest in a way that's a little I Fucking Love Science but affectively is more like The Fly (1986) -style “it's about The Flesh it's about being destroyed and recreated”

in combination make me wonder if “he” might not benefit from gainz of a different kind.....
