*leaves a cowboy hat on her desk. do with it as she will*
… She puts it on to demonstrate exactly why hats do not work with her.
"Here pardner. You're lookin' a might bit sore there. This oughta fix that." *hands Yellow Pearl a cowboy hat, if she will accept.*
“Howdy yourself, partner.” She gratefully took the hat and put it upon her head.
*slips pearl a cheeky cowboy hat, adding with a whisper;* "they can't tell us nothin'."
“I don’t understand….what are you….?” Pearl begins, taking the hat and examining it. Curiously, she puts it on her head. All of a sudden, everything makes sense.
“You tell em’ pardner.”

A good pearl did not keep her mistress waiting. Fortunately Blue Diamond’s servant had always been impeccable, tending to her every need a want. A single finger tipped the smaller gem’s head back, and her gaze narrowed slightly, scrutinizing.
“How long has it been since we gave you a new dress...?” Centuries, at least, perhaps even millennia. She could no longer recall. Once upon a time Blue had been one to change her Pearl’s outfits on a whim, poofing them so that each new version was bolder, flashier, more ornate than the last. “Pink’s ball is the start of a new Era. We must all look our best.” Even the pearls.

“So... I don’t think there’s any way that ball could have gone over worse.”
The pearls had a moment to themselves. With their diamonds running around and trying to maintain some kind of order, it should have come as no surprise. Now that they were alone, though, Yellow didn’t know what she and Blue should have been doing. It felt best to just reflect.
“I tried to tell her,” she said, pacing in front of Blue Pearl. “I tried to help Pink Diamond, but then this happens anyway!” Strangely, it felt like she was partly to blame. That was ridiculous, though. How would it be her fault? Pink had been the one to fuse. Not her. Still, Yellow carried on talking. She was the one that usually did between her and Blue anyway.
“Was there something more we could have done, Blue?”
