There’s no way that, if he ever discovered the band, he didn’t listen to it on repeat during his sleepless, death-wishing nights, thinking every song was about him. I mean, “Back to the Old House,” “Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now,” “How Soon is Now,” “Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want,” “Unlovable,” “Half a Person,” “Asleep,” “The Boy with the Thorn in His Side,” and of course, “There is a Light That Never Goes Out.” Listen to all those songs and tell me they aren’t literally Severus Snape. Morrissey is to him what Taylor Swift is to white girls with dreams.
