What else can you tell us about the Arkham administration and how the patients are treated?
Arkham Mental Hospital is actually relatively well-known for decent patient rehabilitation, it just happens that the Gotham Rogues are unhealthily good at getting out of the facility. Dr. Joan Leland is the lead psychiatrist while Aaron Cash runs security, and both have similar policies I’ve detailed before.
Barring weird incidents like the ones with Barton Mathis and Lyle Bolton, the patients are treated relatively well. They’re medicated and monitored if their medication needs to change. Basil Karlo, who is a more unusual patient who checks himself in, is known for regularly leaving the stasis cell he’s kept in and wandering the facility. Security rarely does much about it because honestly, have you tried restraining mud?
Aaron Cash and Dr. Leland both have parts of their protocol that forbid mistreating the patients, and frankly the board of directors kind of...ignores the goings on at Arkham. As long as they have their funding and the doctors are qualified, they’re good.
