Hello there! Sorry to bother you but I just started playing ESO and since I'm enjoying it, I was wondering if you had any advice that would be helpful to a newish player? I'm around level 20 atm.

This will be in random order, I just wrote down everything I could think of at work:

- join a trading guild to make $$$ quicker (> look for them in zone chat/write in zone chat)

- deconstruct everything you find and don’t need

- research all the things you can

- if you have spare skill points you can put them into Extraction in the Crafting Skill trees to get the most goodies out of deconstructed items

- get one ability bar for AoE and buffs and/or just skill leveling

- whichever ability bar you have active will level faster when you turn a quest in (swap weapon bar to lvl whichever you want)

- some great AddOns to install: MasterMerchant, S'rrendar, Lorebooks/Skyshards, Treasure maps & Surveys

- wear at least one of each armor types (ex. if you’re focusing on heavy armor then > 5 heavy, 1 light, 1 medium piece > you will level all 3 at once (5 pieces are needed for the armor set passives)

- guilds can get you stuff cheaper than NPC vendors > MasterMerchant helps giving you the weekly average sales on most items, so you can price your stuff accordingly and won’t get scammed by some asshole who sales stuff x5 its price

- get all the skyshards (duh)

- horses all have the same starting stats, don’t be fooled by the ridiculous price

- check all the backpacks and urns ‘Cos they can have goodies in them (motifs, recipes)

- don’t fight guards, you will die > run

- shit that sells well in guild stores:

alchemy: corn flower, nirnroot, columbine, lady’s smock, water hyacinth

enchanting: kuta (u won’t be able to use them for a long time anyway)

blacksmithing: tempering alloy, grain solvent

clothier: dreugh wax, elegant lining

woodworking: rosin, mastic

purple & gold motifs and recipes (you might wanna keep them and learn them instead at first tho)

(so all the rare and legendary shit (duh))

Hello Galoo! I have an art question and since I admire you and creative prowess, I figured I'd ask you. When you're starting with a blank canvas, how do you approach establishing the ground work of what you want to draw? Do you start with the environment? Character placement? This is the hardest part for me. For character art it's more obvious but for scenes I never know where to start. A big I'm blank document is super daunting! Any advice and insight is much appreciated.

When it’s just a simple character ask without background, I plop them in the pic and move them around for a better balance/composition once they’re finished.

When it’s a pic where characters interact with their surroundings, I often start with a loose (and incorrect) sketch of the background and place my characters into it. On the sketch below, I drew Buttons first, then the background and then the Trog in the vent duct(?).

I move my characters and scenery around a lot - digital art is magic! It has definitely made me lazy in traditional art where I can’t do the same :’D

I’d say 90% of the time I have a very solid idea of what I want in our comic backgrounds and what type of shot I want to use in each panel. Drawing in smaller panels helps!! I can totally recommend doing little layout sketches before you tackle a bigger project - even if it’s not for a comic. Your sketches don’t have to be accurate or pretty at all. No need to spend time on stuff you might not even end up drawing! And that way you don’t have a big, intimidating canvas to fill. I guess the paper equivalent of that is thumbnailing on sticky notes.Either way, it’s easier to keep your vision clear when you keep it small and simple at first.
