I'm gonna say it. I'm butch/femme critical. I do think the concept of femininity is inherently harmful and the idea that there is some special and unique dynamic that is always or usually present when a woman who performs femininity is paired with a woman who does not perform femininity, and that this dynamic is sacred/desirable and somehow not at all rooted in the patriarchal construct of gender, is suspect to say the least. and as someone who calls myself butch and is socially and physically dysphoric and has complicated feelings about gender I fully understand the appeal of this dynamic and of meeting a 'femme' woman who will fix/complete you somehow and ultimately make you feel less dysphoric, so I'm not just coming out of left field to criticize without having a personal understanding of the situation. I just think we should be focusing on the complete abolition of gendered roles in relationships instead of re-branding/re-inventing them for lesbians. idk it's 3:30 in the morning and there's a snow storm coming. maybe I'll take a walk in it tomorrow. I'm just rambling now to minimize the chance that this becomes a runaway post that makes it out of my little circles because I have learned it is completely impossible to predict when that will happen
So I had seen a post a few days ago that was an abortion metaphor that I couldn’t really think of an argument for on the spot, and finally, today I thought of one!
The post said “If you plant a seed in the ground and then pull it out it doesn’t mean you’ve cut down a tree.”
My response is thus: if you take part in the act of planting a seed it implies that you want to grow a tree, but pulling the seed out of the ground show irresponsibility and you shouldn’t be taking part in an act with consequences you aren’t ready to commit to.
To be straightforward: if you have sex it implies that you are open to becoming pregnant because that is what sex is for, from a biological stand point. If you don’t want a kid, don’t have sex, unless you are okay with using condoms or you use NFP
basically if you show me any attention im already planning our wedding
