I'd like to also connect this headcanon to the origin smp Phil, since he birb there too.
The culture is like an ancient kinda Meso-American kinda just bird culture with people who just have the wings tats bc it's a thing they do when children hit puberty. women have bigger wings tat and therefore wings because children and carrying children. also intimidation.
They don't really like fly but more so glide. Some men follow this trend too, for the intimidation points big wings have. Most warriors (men and women) have smaller more agile wings for combat efficiency.
Wing tats is magic, dog. But the kind of magic that's like natural... like earthy deep in culture kind of natural. The older generation, kind of just chill in established villages while the rest are nomadic. Sometimes if children don't have parents they hang out in the villages too.
It's an ancient culture that is rumored to be wiped out by the time the smps start. I wonder which asshat with a white mask did that? (My headcanon is that dream is constantly being reborn but is mortal with a mortal time frame.)
Phil wanders into one of the villages after getting lost. He hangs with the old people while playing with the children of the villages. Eventually earning their respect enough to get some tats of his own.
some of the nomadic tribes in this culture don't accept Phil and often try to kill him. (more on this later)
Phil being so ancient actually has built some of the temples and structures they worship and he just kinda kept it to himself.
Speaking of Phil, he's like a descendant of the Minecraft's long forgotten gods. So is foolish but dream is a kinda like a creation of the gods being reborn because like sins hence his terminology "dreamon" DreamXD long forgotten dream creation.
He literally is a dreamt up demon of sorts that does bad things.
a nightmare if you will :3 which is what he named his armor and weapons and what have you.
