I need to write 10,000 words. tonight.
I will always always love garrusâ me3 cabin scene, specifically that moment right after shepard wakes up from the dream. garrus, feet up on the table, perfectly comfortable just reading a report while she sleeps. it just signals such a complete comfortability in their relationship that I just will never get over. itâs more intimate to me than if she woke up to him in the bed with her (like the other romance options will). this is someone she trusts to watch over her while she sleeps, and someone whoâs comfortable just listening to her breathing. it feels like this is something familiar, this is a space theyâre used to sharing; rather than garrus just being a visitor, itâs more like he belongs thereâheâs a fixture.
god I love how formally garrus speaks. all his conditional verb tenses and his "indeed" and his "I suppose" and the way his primary curse words are "damn," "crap," and "bastards." this guy was on omega.
I canât stop thinking about plagg. I canât stop thinking about how nervous adrien was to meet his grandparents, to know nathalie wouldnât be in the room, to have marinette stand there unable to hold his hand, and how much he probably needed a distraction. and plagg eats the cheese. plagg phases into the kitchen and adrien follows and ends up getting a moment with marinette. plagg plays whack-a-mole beneath the table and adrien gets to focus on catching him instead of the argument about his own life. adrien is trapped, unable to help ladybug, and plagg offers to share his cheese with him. I love plagg.
there's something I really like about the way garrus's scar disrupts his colony markings... a big part of his character arc (to me, besides seeing the gray in the black and white) is him learning his own way to make a difference. not the hierarchy's, not his father's, not even shepard's. so breaking up that colony marking (something that represents the place he comes from, his start) feels like a step towards forging his own path.
sorry I love messy communication in media. I love hidden messages and lies and and secrets and underlying meanings. characters wearing their hearts on their sleeves should be a rarity - not an expectation. people in real life tend to hold their cards closer to their chests for a number of reasons.
what I love about the blood puddle on omega moment is that itâs another one of those âgarrus just a step behind shepardâ details. when shepard got blown up, shepard died. but garrus, though heâs choking and bleeding, comes out of this moment having only almost died. itâs his phoenix rising from the ashes monent, but heâs still the same garrus who went down, so he doesnât get a new body or a new faceâ just keeps those same old feelings of regret.
