“   pamela   isley   ??   welcome   to   arkham .   “   ────      a   buoyant   smile   pulls   at   the   corners   of   ruby   lips,   and   she’s   soon   reaching   through   the   bars   for   a   handshake   without   a   second   thought   as   to   who’s   on   the   other   end   of   their   cell .   there   are   no   signs   of   hesitancy   or   even   a   smidgen   of   anxiety   in   extended   lithe   digits .   only   a   gentle   gaze   to   match   harleen’s   voice .   It’s   about   time   this   asylum   treated   their   patients   like   people,   and   not   caged   animals .   it’s   time   for   an   exposure   of   the   masses   in   order   to   show   the   world   just   how   cruel   arkham   can,   has,   and   will   be .   ────      “   i’m   doctor   quinzel .   i’ll   be   your   psychiatrist   here,   but   i   was   hoping   perhaps   we   could   also   be   friends   ??   “

          the joker leans in, lips tight and teeth bared. he looks up with a SMILE and tilts his head.   ❝ ---- so it hasn’t occurred to you, either ? now THAT’S funny ! ❞   he chuckles and leans back in the chair. his eyes dart around the room slowly, taking in everything he could find. he careens his eyes back over to the doctor, and it hits him.  ❝ you know, sweet cheeks, i think the joke is that you haven’t killed me yet .... and the punch line is that you’d be worse off ! ❞

          he gets up out of his chair and walks towards her, a hand going into his coat pocket.   ❝ but ... here’s a good one. a bat walks into a criminal operation ... and finds a particular biolady in the middle of it. ❞   out from his pocket he pulls a gumball. the joker places it on his tongue and begins chewing, tossing the wrapper behind him.   ❝ mmmph, now ---- the bat comes to the conclusion that SHE is a little troublemaker and everything she had worked towards was a failure because that bat is a little more clever than everyone thinks. if you ask me ... she could use a little help. ❞

           GREENHOUSES ALWAYS MADE HER feel a little itchy. whether it was the strange guilt she felt, mainly due to the fact she couldn’t keep a house plant alive for longer than a month; or the literal spores that danced in the air --- selina didn’t know. either way, it made the hairs on the back of her head lift and her nose twitch irritably. looking over to pamela she tipped her head, lips parting silently in question as she watched her with inquisitive chestnut eyes, shrugging the tan trench coat from her shoulders and folding it carefully with deft fingers before laying it over the back of a nearby chair. the scent of ozone and the damp atmosphere made her feel as if she’d stepped out of the grime of the city and into an oasis of sorts : beautiful, but full of hidden pitfalls ----- but business was business and the take home was good.
