You knew that Scarlet would know something was wrong the second you got into the forest. He had a really good sense of smell, and maybe you being pregnant made your scent different?
You didn't know, but you knew that he would know by the end of today... you were nervous but not too much.
When you got into the forest where your datemate lived, you started to walk, until you felt arms get wrapped around you scooping you up off the ground and Scarlet looks down at you, a dumb grin on his face “Hey there” he coos, enjoying the way you squealed then smacked at his arms “You asshole!”
He laughs, looking forward holding you as he flew. He always did this... What he didn't always do was start to sniff at you and lets out a hum “Your scents different” he mutters.
“Oh uh y...yeah” you let out a little laugh “That might be cause I'm pregnant”
He makes a small huh sound and nods, looking forward then it clicks and he quickly lands down on the floor and looks at you, putting his hands on your cheeks “You're pregnant? When did you find out? Is it mine?” His wings were flapping quickly behind him.
You laugh, leaning into the touch looking at him putting your hand over his “Yeah, of course it's yours... stupid”
If you thought you'd be allowed to leave for the rest of the day, you're lying to yourself.
Sunset: When he saw you coming his wings started to flap a little, and he moves over “Hey Y/n, glad to see ya, what are you doing here?” he didn't like to admit it too easily, but he did have a big dumb crush on you. You pull him into a hug, and he felt his body tense. You most likely didn't know but hugging like this was a sign of courting to moths! He looks up at you, then down, and hugs back his wings flapping a bit faster. He was soft and his wings made you feel strangely sleepy.
Scarlet: He was pretty annoyed today cause he got into a fight with Cinnabar, which he knew that he was in the right for, but he didn't really wanna deal with the other moth so he took off. While flying he saw you, making him perk up, and he flies down “Oi, Y/n, what are you doin' out here?” he flies around you in circles, until you catch him in a hug, laughing and you start to explain why you're here but he wasn't listening. His soul was now pounding in his chest and he felt embarrassed. This was really sudden...
Leopard: When you came to see him, and you hugged him, his body tensed up but slowly relaxed and he hugs back, holding you tightly “Hi” he mumbles, nuzzling his skull against yours. He was covering you in his scent, and even moves his wings around you a little. It was something that he didn't do all that often anymore. It sorta hurts to move them cause of how torn up they were but he had the biggest wings out of them all! Not compared to his body, though, if it was that it was Sunset who took it.
Rosy: The hug catches her a little off guard, her wings flapping quickly spreading the powder but when she realized it was you? She smiles and laughs, hugging back “You dummy! You scared me” she nuzzles her skull against your head, letting out happy hums. She was so small and soft in your arms! She knew that this was a courting thing for moths, but for humans, it didn't seem to be that... it was something that she knew from watching humans for a while now.
Shadow: He sneaked up on you before you could see him, blending in with the shadows, and jumped out to scare you “Boo!” You jumped, then laughed, and hugged him giving him a little shake “Shadow! You little asshole, how dare you?” he blinks when he was hugged like that, going limp in your arms then smiles and nuzzles into your chest. His wings were hanging limply. Honestly? Really impressive he felt that comfortable with you. Good luck putting him down now.
Cinnabar: if you try to hug him, he's gonna squirm and wiggle around in your arms “Unhand me!” he kicks his legs, while making sure to not hurt you on accident or flap his wings too much. He normally doesn't mind the touching, but that's a bit much and he's just embarrassed.
Lace: When you go to hug them they tense up and move their wings around themselves, and suddenly you were unable to see them. You could still sense that they were there though... “Y/n, you... need to ask before trying to do that” they suddenly say, allowing you to see them again, turning their head away and sinking down a little into the clothing that they were wearing. They do allow you to hug them but they felt like they were shaking in your arms.
How would Sunset, Scarlet, and Leopard react to an s/o giving them lots and lots or colourful flowers one day, and the only reason for it is because "I love you, and the pretty colours made me think of you and your lovely smile."
Here we go! I will say, these guys are still WIPs, I'm still trying to get their thoughts and characters in mind but, luckily, they seem to be pretty good and easy to click with!
Sunset: While the other two sleep during the day most of the time and move around during the night, Sunset flies during the day and sleeps during the night. When Y/n came over to give him the flowers, saying "I love you, and the pretty colours made me think of you and your lovely smile." he would perk up, his cheeks flushing with color before laughing and shaking his head at them "Aww, ain't you sweet?" He slips one of his wings around them, taking the flowers studying them, and brushing his fingers over the petals of the flowers. If there are any in there that he would like, he might eat them but he most likely would keep them... spread them out throughout his nest and the cave? Lighten it up a little. He really likes the flowers, and really likes the fact that Y/n gave them to him! That just proves that they love him, so ha!
Scarlet: He would blink once, then twice, looking a little shocked then laugh shaking his head "Why did you get me flowers?" he reaches over, gently taking them and when Y/n goes and says "I love you, and the pretty colours made me think of you and your lovely smile." he's gonna have to pause. Oh... Oh okay... shit. He flushes his wings flapping quickly behind him, and he huffs turning his head away from them "Eh shut up" He hides his face a little into the flowers, trying to calm his wings down from flapping. That was honestly really sweet of you... he likes flowers more than he might admit. Maybe get him some dog fennel next time? Just be careful with it... he likes eating it to refill his toxins. Plus, you know, it just tastes good. You're gonna get a cheek kiss but he isn't the best with cuddling, so don't expect that from him.
Leopard: When he sees the flowers, he's going to stare at them slowly blinking, then look at his datemate, his head tilted to the side waiting for them to explain why they were giving him plants? When they said "I love you, and the pretty colours made me think of you and your lovely smile." he couldn't help but let his wings flap the smallest bit. They were torn so long ago, and they could never heal which was... upsetting. They were too damaged for him to be able to fly but then you come and do something so sweet like this? "Thank you" he mumbles, and scoops you up, nuzzling his cheek against yours, holding you against his fluffy chest "B-But... I don't need flowers. You're the only thing t-that... I want" he coos, and sits down holding you against him. Haha! Good luck! You aren't gonna get out of the cuddles now for a long time. It's fine. He's really soft. Get comfortable.
How close would you have to be to ask the moths for a hug

Sunset: If the person asking didn't seem like a threat, he would hug someone he just met! I mean, there's no reason to say no. You know, just don't mess with his wings and don't try to do anything that might end up hurting him.
Scarlet: They would have to be pretty good friends before he would hug anyone... mostly because he doesn't like hugging people and because he worries that he would hurt the person.
Leopard: I would say... they'd have to be pretty good friends. He has a hard time trusting people, but he really does like hugs! They make him feel happy and safe. Protected, even.
Rosy: Good luck getting out of the forest without hugging Rosy, lol. He would hug anyone! Even people he doesn't know.
Shadow: Expect tackle hugs when you two become friends. If he trusts you, he'll hug you! He sees no reason not to do that. So maybe after a few weeks.
Lace: Years. YEARS.
Lamp: He would accept hugs not way too long after you guys start hanging out :) think maybe twoish weeks? He wants to be sure you're a real friend and not someone who's trying to hurt him or get close to him to hurt him.
Shade: Maybe a few months of friendship, tbh. He has trust issues.
Luna: Maybe a month of friendship. He has trust issues, but not as bad as Shade. He might just say no because he doesn't like being touched all that often. It really depends on how close of a friend he is with you.
Moonshine: No matter how long you guys are friends, he wouldn't ever start the hug. If you ask, he might get too embarrassed and run off. The best thing to do is to hug him, and he'll return the hug once he stops being a flustered weirdo.
Lunar: A few weeks, maybe? Maybe 3 :) He doesn't mind hugging! He thinks it's fun! The only thing is that you can't surprise him with it; he would accidentally use his powers on you, and he doesn't want to do that lol. It's awkward.
Moondust: Give him a while. And I mean a long while. He dislikes being close to people and, even more, being touched. If you try to force it, he might run away from you, and you won't see him for a while. He might not even do hugs anyway! He might just lean against you, and I think that's good enough for him.
Droplets: Depends :) but mostly I think he would hug someone that he calls a good friend. So maybe after at least two months of friendship. He dislikes touching, but he will if you ask him to do it! He cares about you and enjoys seeing you happy.
Leaf: He'd hug you the first time he met you, if you want me to be honest lol. He likes hugs!
Halfa: Probably after a few months, tbh. He has a hard time feeling like he can trust people, even if they've never done anything to show he couldn't trust them.
Vio: Challenge him to a hugging contest, and he'll hug you the first time you two meet.
