Feels awesome getting back into squats without any pain. I've been spending so much time working on my mobility and mechanics. Squatting has always been one of my all time favorite exercises. Can't wait to start hitting new PRs in the near future, everything feels real smooth and powerful 👌🏻 hit really easy sets of 335 for 3 sets of 5 today. Slowly increasing volume and frequency and getting myself reacquainted with the movement. I had to switch to safety squats for awhile because I had developed some serious issues in my left elbow and brachialis. I've corrected most of my shoulder mobility issues as well as changed my elbow position to being further under the bar, rather than back and tight. This still allows me to keep a nice shelf for my bar and takes the load out of my arms. I want to lift for as long as I possibly can, so making these modifications was a must! If you're in pain all the time, I highly suggest you take a step back and do what you need to correct those issues. For me that included lots of stretching, smashing, yoga, research, and application. Taking a step back isn't quitting, it isn't failing, it's smart and logical, and will eventually lead you down the right path. This is also what my brand @neverquitperformance represents, it's not just about never giving up, it's about making decisions that will ultimately lead you to being a better you. Consciously making an effort everyday to improve whatever it is you want to improve. Grind on people!
