While reading the last update of Motm i realized that in the dream sequence Elder Kettle never calls the C-bros by their names,
Which at first could seem to mean nothing as grandparents not always call their grandkids by their names, but in the next panel after Cuphead gets his shoes
The name we know him as is not only highlighted in red but also placed in a black box as if it is censoring something probably his original name and the same thing seems to be happening to Mugman.
While he has his brakedown flashback his name is also placed in a box almost like sticky note censoring his original name.
Which has me thinking that Cuphead and Mugman are some kind of codenames, either given to themselfs by themselfs or by a more terrifing higher power such as The Devil, and in a Fae stealing your name kind of way they are controled by Him.
In two panels, we see both the cup-bros and the b-bros reference a character named Ms. White
Said panels:
This got me wondering as to who Ms. White could be, and the theory I have right now is that Ms. White could be Hello Kitty, as Hello Kitty's full name is Kitty White!!!
I also believe she would fit nicely into the world that is motm, as she is a very cartoon-ey cartoon character imo, and has a lot of personality that fly and nort could work with!
It also makes the most sense to me that Ms. White is Hello Kitty, as hello Kitty is an extreamly popular character, so it lays over nicely with the fact that both the collectors and the b-bros know her (much like mickey mouse, bugs bunny, sonic, mario, ect, is popular both irl and in the motm universe)
This could be totally wrong, but I thought it was pretty cool and wanted to share :p
@myth-of-the-machine belongs to both @nortsauce and @flygutzz !!!!
If someone tells Boris there's a place only Bendy can go, and where his brother can live a long, healthy life in 100%. But the condition is: they'll never see each other again.
OR
There is a place where they can still be together and live like before, but the condition is this: Bendy can recover, or he can die immediately. The chance is 50/50%.
So, what will Boris choose? A completely healthy brother, just like he wanted, but he'll never see him again. Or the risk of losing him, but also saving him and being together.
The complexity between Boris and Bendy is relevant especially in their actions. Where Bendy chooses to put himself first, Boris puts others before himself. However, certain panels may have implied that both of their morals would be put aside when it comes to each other. But what will that truly mean? How will that materialize in the comic?
(The rest is just theory and speculation you don’t gotta read all that)
There was a post I saw a day or so ago talking about MOTM’s color theory, especially when it came to Bendy. I don’t remember the OP, but if I find them I’ll make sure to credit them, as they had wonderful points. Like how Bendy is portray with white light when given the option to save Dyle, and yet despite the lighting depicting him as a savior, Bendy chooses to leave Dyle for dead in favor of himself.
OP had also showed the flip-side, where Boris is depicted in red lighting, which symbols typically evil and/or danger. Yet, despite that fact, not only does Boris go back to save Shelly, both of them are completely ok (or as ok as it gets).
So that post got me thinking a lot more about color theory, and my own personal theories based on that, so I’ll apologize now for being all over the place. So I’d like to go back to Bendy, and specifically the fact of him being portrayed like a savior. You know, we got some “I loved you like a god and you betrayed me like a man” vibes going on. But that cannot possibly be the actual case, right? However, Bendy’s signature color is yellow. That’s stated time and time again through asks to both Nort and Fly. Do you know what else is yellow? The map. The SAME map that only Bendy can see. Coincidence? I think not.
Because you know what ELSE is associated with yellow in this comic? The Celestials.
So, the map is related to the Celestials, and Bendy is obviously related to the Celestials! Actually, no. I don’t think it’s that simple. While I do believe that Bendy is definitely tied to the Celestials, due to the yellow motifs and his religious background, I don’t think Bendy is solely a Celestial. The reason for that is actually because of the asks given to Fly specifically. Fly had this thing where they answered cute asks like how the main characters would (really love that btw it’s so fun). But a key thing stuck out to me. All the characters’ text colors were based on their fav color/the color assigned to them in their ref sheets. For example, Mugman is blue, Cuphead is red, Boris is green and Shelly is orange! The outlier here, however, is Bendy.
Despite being so obviously connected to yellow in the comic, and yellow being his assigned color on the ref sheets, Bendy’s text color is black. Now, this may be because yellow can be hard to see on white! Maybe I’m reading too much into this! And I’m totally betting on the fact that I am. But I’ve seen so many people sharing their cool theories and I wanted to try putting my thoughts into the pile too. And you know how I mention Bendy being portrayed in white lighting earlier? Well, the opposite of white, is black. This choice of text color might be to show Bendy’s true nature. A character who is so often associated with yellows and whites, both of which being positive and even holy colors, having their text color be black to show their true self is actually really genius. Also, that black might represent ink in its purest form, being black. Again, I could be totally wrong. But it makes so much sense to have his text be black instead of yellow. This piece also leads me to believe that whatever Bendy is, he is not, at least not fully, Celestial. While he is most definitely important and connected to the map, and I believe he is connected in a way that actually surpasses Celestial. Looking way back to the prologue, we read that the Celestials, for whatever reason, took apart the ink machine and scattered the parts amongst themselves. And just like in the game, we see almost all the parts of the ink machine. All except one.
The game of Bendy and the Ink Machine has a total of six parts you need to find in order to turn the ink machine on. In this image we see 5 of them, with the 6th one noticeably missing. The 6th one is the bendy doll. At this point, I cannot confirm 100% what this means, but I can suspect that Bendy is not just able to read the map, he’s what the ink machine physically needs to run again. To end this theory off, I want to stay at the prologue and talk about how the Ichor that the Celestials came from is actually alive. The Celestials came from Ichor, also known as God’s Blood. However, we find that the Ichor isn’t an inanimate object, but a living being. It’s unclear whether or not the Ichor meant to create the Celestials, but my final point is this. Whether or not Bendy is a Celestial or not, I believe that Bendy is created from the unfiltered ink of the Ichor itself AND that he is the one of the only intentional creations of the Ichor. I don’t have enough evidence to support this fact, but if we look at the Ichor and Bendy side by side, we see a lot of similarities.
Their shapes are similar. Both the Ichor and Bendy have a seemingly round shape. Exactly how you might imagine old cartoon characters. And when the Ichor is portrayed as evil, the resemblance is actually even more prevalent.
The Ichor’s pointy ink spikes curve in almost the exact same way Bendy’s horns do. And if the Ichor went to war with the Celestials, what better way to get back at them then by creating a DEMON, the creature who is most popular with being AGAINST Celestials. Now, this is all speculation, and I could be 100% wrong. But seeing all the fun and different theories has been such a treat, and even if it is’t organized all that well, I’m happy to be able to share my thoughts too!
I loooove the new myth update so much! But something I did take note is the change in bendys eyes and how they tie into his past and character so far.
Image 1
In this image we can see them go pure white with obvious black outlines. Another instance we see this is in the flash back. Which we can see here is distressed.
Image 2
Another time would be when on the train when he lies to the others although in that they not only take a whole new shape but color, which I may or may not get into later.
Image 3
I know it is to express emotions such as anger and distress from what we’ve seen so far we also see this in other toons. This happens when expressing complex emotions or thoughts towards others or themselves.
What I want to focus on is image 1, because in this image when he is talking about his past it shows how angry and hurt he is to his past, but when questioned about it later on it seems as if he ‘forgot’ or his brain spaced that conversation out possibly hinting that his memories isn’t what it seems to be.
Boris even questioned bendy on his memory bring up a third person whom, we as the readers don’t know yet. Why would bendy have such memory issues if it not only happened to him BUT Boris as well. I am aware there is a more context that follows after this about a separate event we have no idea on, but how could one person get branding. A form of humiliation and torture so casually mixed up? As shown in images 3 & 4

Now my thoughts on the matter!
it may be due to sub-pressing trauma. This happens when a person who’s experience trauma the brain will sub-press it to cause as little harm as possible. If so could that also be effecting his memory of his and dandy’s fall out? Since what we’re reading is hinting at bendy having some type of memory issues it could be possible that his brain re-wrote what happened to him and dandy. Ether to make it less painful or to make him believe it wasn’t his fault. Which is why when dandy and him met after all these years bendy is hostile towards dandy even blaming saying how little he changed.
Which would explain a lot of things moving forward for not just bendy but even Mugman once we begin to learn more in their pasts.
Okay! That’s my little rant thanks for reading to my ted talk! I apologize if it wasn’t clear enough, I’m not used to rants like this. I hope you enjoyed. P.s sorry for spelling errors..
So I just saw this post about Boris and Mugman on TikTok where mugman was Boris’s stalker and all I could say is I feel like Boris probably would’ve heard Mugman from the beginning because he’s, you know,—
….
A wolf. With very, very enhanced senses.
And that has led me down the path of Boris, knowing he has a stalker, but amused and wants to see how long the stalker will go on for and Mugman, being completely unaware that he’s been caught from the beginning.
bonus points if Boris knows his scent and meet him later on when Mugman is not in his stalker persona, and immediately clocks the scent.
