PT 2. OF THE TWINS: ORCHID

anyways. i guess. I GOT ON THE GRIND. I FINISHED THE DRAWING. everyone say ‘HI ORCHID!!’ (also, although genderfluid, orchid prefers he/him on most days, but occasionally he does switch to sticking with she/they)

my idea for orchid was to make him a colder, more serious character who usually gets overshadowed by his twin, oxeye— the ‘voice of reason’ between them two who often times gets ignored.

although he views mickey as an idol, he does sometimes question his morals/motive, making him less gullible than oxeye, and hence a lot less preferred when handed information/usually not the one picked to lead important missions.

she’s also a victim of the blot. ever since she was maybe 8 years old their symptoms have been worsening— but never wanting to be a bother about it, they kept quiet. he’s learned that strong emotions usually trigger attacks, another reason why he acts so detached from other toons, including oxeye.

someone, or something that knows orchid has the blot is toodles. after a particularly rough mission, the stress of it all gets to her and she begins to worsen. panicked, she rushes to a safer, quieter area, the bathroom. they locks themselves in and attempt to calm down. however, toodles, being able to control the panels to all the rooms, opens it and walks in on orchid nearly dying.

ashamed more than anything, and not wanting to be considered a liability, orchid begs toodles not to tell anyone— including oxeye. toodles agrees under one condition: when told to do something, he must comply.

toodles reports this back to mickey, it’s literally his duty to, and instead of getting rid of him, mickey uses this to his advantage. he sends toodles to do his bidding and forces orchid into situations/missions.

one of those missions being: find the rascals that have the map. (oxeye tags along too guys dw)

maybe he falls in love with mugman or something

although orchid prefers to be more masc presenting, he does have his moments where dressing more femininely feels a lot more comfortable. in these circumstances she’ll usually turn to jessica for help/guidance. (jessica fits as an older sister figure)

ORCHID + OXEYE : OZLING TWIN OCS 🐰🖋️

these take place while they were still in training— so, their teenage years.

oxeye was usually the more energetic out of the two and always insisted on getting up bright and early for training sessions with sonic. her determination and attitude made them sonic’s favorite, no doubt.

during training one day, the twin twins got particularly rowdy with one another— and sonic had just the thing to solve it all: making them a ‘our get along shirt’ and forcing them to wear it 24 hours straight.

this somehow actually helped a ton?? they became more coordinated and learned that communication was key if you wanted to achieve anything in a fast and efficient manner. all of this helped with understanding the basics of teamwork while out on missions— if you want to be successful, you need to work together.

hcs when they were still in training

1. more days than not, oxeye would drag orchid out of bed and force him to practice while still in his pajamas— sonic stopped caring after like a week.

2. during his earlier teen years orchid was actually a lot more emotional— she tended to cry quite a lot, even at the smallest details. but after realizing this only worsened her condition he began to regulate his emotions until eventually he just didn’t express any— or at least minimizing them.

3. oxeye was sonic’s favorite trainee by a long shot— but that doesn’t mean that he didn’t love orchid just as much. infact, sonic views the twins as family, even now.

4. oxeye is more of an offensive fighter while orchid is more defensive.

5. orchid’s usual technique will be to lure in the opponent— making herself an easy looking target before attempting to gain high ground by catching them off guard. although they prefer melee based combat, they obviously still carry around a handgun incase getting closer isn’t possible or he’s put in a critical position.

I LOVE THESE TWO SO MUCH, auggghhhhh i’m growing such a profund connection with them already, i hope you guys love them as much as i do
