Alguns dizem que é uma coroa de espinhos, mas Oscar Niemeyer explicou significado: "Projetei-a circular, com colunas curvas, que se elevam para o ceu, como um gesto de reclamo e comunicação”. . ➡️Curiosidades: 🔸O que se vê do lado de fora é apenas a cobertura do prédio. 🔸As 16 colunas da estrutura não se apoiam sozinha. Elas se encontram em volta de um anel de compressão fundamental para a sustentação da estrutura. É um truque usado por Niemeyer, pois nenhum dos pilares fica em pé sozinho. 🔸O espelho d'água que fica ao redor da estrutura da Catedral não serve apenas de enfeite. Ele ajuda a refrigerar e garantir umidade ao ar seco típico do Cerrado. 🔸Próximo à rampa de acesso à Catedral quatro estátuas de bronze de três metros de altura chamam a atenção.
