NEW DETAILS RE: RAFFLE AND LOOKING FOR PRIZE DONATIONS IN BLUE BELOW
My name is Miranda, most of you know me as Wolfling. I'm from the border of the Carolinas, the hills and valleys of Appalachia. Currently most of Western North and South Carolina is some version of under water/flooded. Even those whose homes aren't flooded/submerged have experienced intense property damage from trees and power lines falling, landslides, etc. My own family has experienced everything from losing houses, cars, still having some shelter but risky property damage, gas outages, power outages, etc. In my hometown, they're out of gas, water, and charcoal in most stores.
NONE OF THE ASSISTANCE CURRENTLY IN PLACE IS COMING FROM THE FEDERAL OR LOCAL GOVERNMENTS. Some groups have stepped up. Biden and the governors did declare a state of emergency but unfortunately so far that just looks like optic, just looks like not being quite as bad as Bush and Katrina.
I'LL BE FUNDRAISING ON TWITCH THIS WEEK TO GET MY FAMILY SOME BASIC NECESSITIES, ANYTHING OVER THAT WILL GO TO UPSTATE FOOD NOT BOMBS WHO ARE ON THE GROUND FEEDING FOLKS AND TRYING TO REPLACE SUPPLIES FOR THE HOMELESS COMMUNITY IN MY HOMETOWN.
UPDATE: I have a grand prize raffle of a roughly $400 art commission from @sanrixian. What I need now are folks who would do maybe smaller pieces as second and third tier raffle prizes. Do you make cool mugs? Do you make trinkets or make your own honey or anything that could ship as part of this raffle? Donating an item/skill of any kind is welcome! I want to bring in as many people as I can in a short amount of time!
I'm asking anyone who would be comfortable with it to donate a piece of art for an art raffle! And "art" means any things to me. Digital art or traditional painting. Do you make incredible fan videos? Do niche tarot decks? Whatever it is, if it's something cool I can offer folks in a raffle, I'd love to have your help! Volunteering if you’re near any area affected is also great ! This weekend i flew out to go volunteer with Keep Pinellas Beautiful, some family businesses, along with overall helping my community and giving back. And it makes a change, whether you believe it or not.
When I entered the beach for the first time to do a cleanup, it was devastating. I talked to some smaller business owners over there as well, most of them thinking they will have to demolish their places completely because it’s too much.
