once upon a time, this was the Four Seasons Motor Inn. so many fond childhood memories in this pool, under that rubber tree and among all the rich jungle plants that used to fill the space – fall visits to town for the Balloon Fiesta and state fair, summer visits with friends, holiday shopping trips... later, the hotel was rebranded a Radisson, then someone built an indoor water park and called it the Cascada, then it was a Radisson again, then a Wyndham and now the sprawling late-modern complex is being converted into upscale apartments with a douchey millennial name. they’ve dismantled the water park next door and are going to fill the pool in to turn it into a wading pool and remove the glass roof, which will kill the rubber tree. bummer.
