there’s a difference between gender identity and gender orientation and i think the conflation of the two has been the cause of a fair bit of conflict

I haven’t actually heard of this and there being some separate ‘identity’ and ‘orientation’. Can you fill me in?

have u read Assuming a Body by Gayle Salomon? She uses an understanding of body based on Butler and Merleau-Ponty to criticize n understand trans/"queer" theory, n as a TW w/ phenomenological and buddhist leanings it has been an amazing read for me

like, idk, i feel imposter syndrome hardcore too and hope i didn't trigger that by suggesting a rand book i read. instead, recently I've been using that book to avoid stressors and even if i don't understand evrything it's been good for countering IS

why would it be good for countering it ? :x
