Meet the Vulchanovs, your friendly neighbourhood Russians / casino-owning troublemakers! This lot has been in Haven for quite some time now, with a handful of them having immigrated from Russia during childhood and the rest being born and raised Canadians. Their story is a bit long and twisty so I’m gonna keep this fairly vague and if you’re at all interested in learning more or potentially participating, just shoot me a dm on discord!
So, for starters, most everything about the characters are up to the players. The solid canon, however, is this:
They’ve all got a lot of darkness in their blood.
Their father’s a career criminal and their mother has, unfortunately, passed away. They currently own a casino which they not only use to launder money for one of Haven’s most prominent families (possibly more tho?), but also to conduct their own not-strictly-legal enterprises (drugs, illegal sorts of betting, etc). However involved your character would like to be in all of that is up to you, and I’m absolutely not opposed to there being one or two on the outskirts or even directly opposing their family in some way! Have fun with things and make them yours!
The plot/family dynamic is based on Peaky Blinders, which is excellent and you should watch it if you haven’t, but we’re playing nice and loose with things so don’t feel like you have to at all stick to series canon! Names, ages, and fcs are open - however I’d really love it if the Arthur remained the eldest of the siblings!

Kidding though, lol, come down to Brooks Investigations for all your investigatory needs and you’ll find that Barry Brooks, P.I., is the best in town which is probably because he’s the only [P.I.] in town (as far as he knows, which is either great or like, a huge red flag). Point is!!! He’ll get the job done!!! Unless it kills him!!! Or he just can’t do it!!!
Alright so HI I’m gonna be tossing something up specifically for Barry later, but right now I’m looking to 1. Develop his P.I. practice a bit which means, 2. Putting some feelers out for potential employees! At the moment, Barry is the boss. Will this change? Not unless you kill him but like, please don’t. What I’d like to give him is like private investigator partners - maybe a hacker, someone specialising in hunting shit down online because computers are not Barry’s forte. He’s more a pen-n-paper guy, you know? Maybe someone who is out on the streets with him? Maybe someone who looks really fucking good in wigs and disguises and honestly just wants a reason to show that off? These and more are all possibilities!!! Also he could desperately use a secretary or something to keep him grounded and organised and to peel him off the couch in the morning because he absolutely drank too much the night before and forgot his office wasn’t his home.

Greetings mourners! It’s time for site previews, beginning with APPLICATIONS.
We have two styles of app— the colour block and the gradient! Each works in the same way: it's one big image with your character's name and three links. These links, when clicked, will scroll you down to their respective portions of the application.
The info section is the same for everyone— age, occupation, birthday, etc. It's a quick overview of your character and their background.
The freestyle is your blank canvas! You can populate it however you’d like as long as you give a clear picture of who your character is and what they’re about. 2000 words is our soft limit (2500 words is our hard limit, anymore than that and you’ll be asked to cut it down) and 400 words is our minimum! The shipper is how others will plot with you and can be styled however you see fit.
GUIDELINES:
The image dimensions are 650px wide by 600px high. For those who like retina images, that's 1300px wide by 1200px high. This image should fit with the site aesthetic; black and white isn’t mandatory, but we do ask that it fit the monochromatic theme of the site. If you need help with graphics feel free to ask the staff team! We’re here to help.
