I'll never get over how embrassed Mourn Rook got when (I think it was Bell) said; "You talk different when your in Mournwatcher mood."

And Rook just stuttering and instantly goes "no- no i don't!"

Now I can't help but think about Mourn!rook with Lucanis. An they slip into their Mourn Watch mode. They talk about the fade, spirits, they kinda wish they could talk to Spite the way Emmrich does. But its so embrassing to be heard geeking out over it. An you know lucanis listens endless to M!Rook just talk.

she's too busy to look straight away, just passes on the message she's been passing to all who have come to help.

"darkspawn. we chased them out but i doubt they went far."

she stands and reaches for her weapon, only then does she look at the new arrival. she can tell by the stance - she's heard rumors of the one responsible for the fate of thedas.

DRAGON AGE: THE VEILGUARD PROMPTS PT 2

"I think we both have wishful thinking, Rook," Kekipi says, dismounting her horse to take a closer look at their obstacle: a large gap in the bridge. She holds the reins in one hand as she rests her hands on her hips, pursing her lips under the balaclava. She peers over the ledge, seeing how far of a drop it was. Oh yea, it was pretty far. She then looks over to where they were supposed to heading to in order to search the area for clues on where these darkspawn were popping up.

"Hm..." she taps her chin before looking back at Rook, "Might be risky, but we might need to try to scale down and climb our way back up."

     brilliant   amber   stayed   fixated   on   the   clear   sky,   tracing   the   empty   spaces   left   by   stars   that   were   long   dead.   a   pitiful   remembrance   of   what   once   was,   of   what   had   been   lost.   'twas   not   often   she   reminisced   like   this,   for   it   was   useless   to   wish   for   a   time   better   left   suffocating   behind   the   veil.   dark   lashes   fluttered   as   hyeon   slowly   blinked,   taking   a   moment   to   reorient   herself   before   she   glanced   over   at   the   other.   tiered   flesh   quirked   into   a   small,   sardonic   smile   as   she   gave   a   half-shrug.    

     ❝   lost   ??   in   thought,   perhaps.   ‘tis   just   .   .   .   a   stark   realization   that   everything   has   changed.   i   thought,   perhaps   naively,   that   there   would   be   something   left   unchanged   by   the   passage   of   time.   but   no,   even   the   sky   greets   me   as   a   stranger.   i   .   .   .   forgive   me.   i   pray   that   i   prattle   too   much   about   unnecessary   nonsense.   but   come,   we’ve   much   to   do   &&   not   nearly   enough   time   to   do   it.   ❞

"With this line of work? Fighting darkspawn n' all?" Kekipi hums, polishing her blade and looking over it for a moment, her eyes examining the metal before they flicked over to Rook, "Kind of expect it to be in the job description and to be honest? I wouldn't have it any other way."

She then sheaths the blade and grunts as she gets up, cracking her neck and then shaking off the feeling before looking over at her. While her smile couldn't be seen due to the balaclava she wore, she was definitely smiling. Maybe even grinning. "What say you, Rook?

❝ WE SAW THIS COMING LAST TIME . ❞ indeed they had been prepared . they had discovered the plans and made haste to make sure everyone was ready . this time though ? they had been blindsided . now all she could do was walk amongst the injured and treat as many as she was able .

❝ this is . . . scary . ❞ finally , she admitted it . all that was happening . she was scared . it won't stop her from helping , but she had been holding the confession down . she was so used to maintaining the graves , tending to the gardens , and preparing the recently deceased . she never thought herself a hero and never believed she was fit to be one . there was so much going on these days . it truly did scare her .

THE TEARS IN HER EYES STUNG LIKE ICY RAIN . her bottom lip quivered and she had to suck it in to try and stop its trembling . she felt sick --- the room spinning and and bile threatening to rise in her throat . this whole scene was tragic and unjust . so many lives lost --- spirits scattered and full of anguish . head shook in disbelief , delicate hands gripping her staff so tight her knuckles were turning white , but it was the only thing holding her up in that moment . she'd surely fall to the filthy streets if she were to release her grasp upon it .

watery eyes looked desperately to the other mourn watcher . ❝ luc ---- i ---- ❞ a sob escaped her as not only her emotions washed over her but the emotions of others she felt around her ; living or dead or those knocking on death's door . it was so overwhelming --- this pain and despair she could smell in the air ---- thick enough to slice with a dagger .

     supple   flesh   twitched   as   hyeon   bit   back   an   amused   smile,   the   corners   of   her   eyes   crinkled   as   she   quietly   observed   the   chaos   before   them.   try   as   she   might   to   distance   herself   from   these   mortals,   they   always   seemed   to   find   a   way   to   find   cracks   within   her   self-imposed   walls,   anchoring   themselves   within   her   cosmic   ribcage.   to   witness   such   unabashed   joy,   the   revelry   after   a   job   well   done,   soothed   an   ancient   ache   that   she   couldn't   be   bothered   to   remember   where   from.
