I tried taxidermy for the first time, this is the end result!

Check out my previous post to see where I started off with this project! I had to do a lot of cleaning. I'm very proud of the end result :)

The cat brought the first catch of the season home to us, it was a mouse, may it rest in peace, so I'm preserving it

Its name is Freddy

Step 1: check if the animal is definitely dead

It is, it's giving Frederick Usher (tfothou)

Step 2: Remove the skin, muscles and organs as much as possible

Eyes, kidneys, liver and a tiny organ I don't recognise, a leg, snout and the skin

Step 3: before you remove the tongue take some funny pictures

Step 4: cover it in 3% hydrogen peroxide solution and let it rest for a day

I think I messed up ID on this one. I thought I saw the notch on the incisors but now Im not so sure.

This skull is so damaged and the dog managed to launch a toy across the room and crushed it some more. Time to put this one and Al to bed.
