Georgia - Move Systems

There is something so incredibly magical about Georgia’s music with the way she combines modern synths with actual instruments, something I rarely see done despite it sounding so incredible. Today she dropped the music video for her track called Heart Wrecking Animals off her debut album and what I love about this track is the ambience that goes along with that gorgeous string section mixed those luscious electronics and that soothing vocal that just has me sitting here in absolute awe. As I said at the start their is just something magical about Georgia’s music, in this track especially, that takes you to a whole new world and has me feeling like I am flying through the air with her soft vocal leading the way - Jakk

The last month was kind of bereft of new music for me until, suddenly, it wasn’t. Thank god for Georgia. Her self-titled album is thick, dirty, and has a percussive kick that feels vital as summer fades into fall. I love the fake-out that opens “Move Systems”, the lead single - the tinny synth giving way to a drum track that sounds like subway rattling crossed with a machine gun. What’s amazing too is that, despite all the activity in the song (the drums, the pinging synths, the fat distorted bass, and the huge central hook), she still communicates space and iciness rather than letting it sound too crowded. It’s a song about resistance that sounds like controlled chaos, achieving a kind of invincibility - the world is fucked up but goddamn, are we powerful or what?
