I began exploring my Movement theme with print. I made an etching on a zinc plate (14.8 cm × 16.9 cm). First, I polished and cleaned the tile, then applied wax to it on a hot plate. Once it dried, I began drawing on the tile using a special tool. Afterwards, I let it soak in acid for 15 minutes, then washed the wax off the tile with white spirits. Then, I applied ink to the tile and placed it under a press roller.

I became so engrossed in the process that I completely forgot that my tutors had just told me that the entire tile design would print backwards on the paper, which is why my text, in particular, runs from back to front. This was a big mistake I made while creating this print, but I'll do my best to avoid it again.

Overall, I enjoyed the process of etching on a zinc plate, although I felt a bit uncomfortable working with it, knowing that it was important not to make a mistake in the drawing, as it would no longer be possible to simply erase it with an eraser like a pencil.
